I ordered a Lariat Tremor on the last day of ordering. I've done business with them before and gave me an MSRP deal on my order. They are a smaller to medium sized dealer in the burbs. Now, the larger dealers in my area would not do that. They would say "you can order it but....".

I knew they would probably have a lower allocation amount than the large dealers. When I put in the order, the sales person said that the vast majority of their orders were for the hybrid. Obviously, I have no idea about how many allocations my dealer had or what the split was but for this example say 80% were for hybrids. Since there are not a lot of Tremor orders and commodity issues to deal with, would my Tremor order be a more likely candidate of my dealers orders to get filled? Does anyone have any insight on how this works? Obviously, Ford has a finite supply of hybrid drivetrains. However, it seems like EB and Tremor specific parts don't seem to be as constrained.

I knew there would be a waiting period and not even sure it would get built for 23. I'm not in dire need of a new car but my Fusion is getting older and I'm just racking up the miles. A few more months and it's paid for, which might tempt me to look at dealer stock this summer. I'd prefer to have my order but may get a wandering eye if I can find something close to what I am looking for. Appreciate any insight on this.

Yes, your order is more likely to be scheduled because of commodity issues!

When your dealer has allocation(s), Ford will look for buildable orders in the dealer's order bank. They look at the highest priority orders first, and will keep going down the line search for an order that they can schedule. If you have a lot of hybrid orders ahead of you, there is a good chance that they may be passed over because of constraints on hybrid powertrains, and yours scheduled instead.

Thanks! That's what I thought. I know there is a lot of fuzzy math behind how Ford picks out which orders to be built and it's not as straight forward as some would like. I do keep getting the generic email updates from Ford so I know my order is still waiting to be scheduled. I'll hold tight until it gets scheduled or cancel it if I need/want something sooner.
