Just curious if there are any good aftermarket alarms people have installed on their Maverick?

I live in an apartment complex which there always seems too be car break-ins (ranger was broken into on xmas) and wanted to get an alarm that would alert me (preferably on my phone or key dongle) of any vibration or attempted break in of my maverick. I live on second floor and park in garage underneath.

Any helpful choices or models of alarms that might do this?

There's the Ford one that's some $245 (potentially less if you get it discounted online) that's mostly plug and play and has the added benefit of allowing remote start with your key fob.

I’d just make sure to leave nothing of value in your car. An alarm will only notify you that someone was in your car but whatever they took is already gone.

Where I work we install Compustar Products and with the Drone option you will receive notification on your phone.

I know there is the Perimeter plus that Ford offers but was hoping there was an alarm system that could notify me right away when my alarms was triggered...something sent to me via phone or thru the key fob itself. I don't believe Ford perimeter plus does that unless I'm mistaken

Maybe just peace of mind is what I'm looking for :)

The Ford alarm notifies via the FordPass app supposedly.

I installed one on my 2019 Ranger and very happy with it. Easy install and if you do not currently have remote start it can be set up by dealer service dept. or ForScan to add that feature if you want. I also added the flashing LED. Mine already had remote start so no visit to dealer. It is very sensitive at the highest setting so you need to experiment with it. if you use FordPass app you can get notified if the alarm triggers as well as the horn honk. You also get a honk when you unlock if it has triggered. My truck had been hit in a parking lot and the person took off leaving a dented fender so that was my main motivation to add the perimeter+ alarm. I plan to install one on the Maverick when it arrives.

Ford was testing something like that called SecuriAlert but that has been cancelled.

They're working with ADT on an alarm system but that' not available yet

Your only option at this point looks to be some 3rd party system for mobile alarm alerts.

That appears to be the SecuriAlert feature that is no longer available as of earlier this year.

I had Ford's Perimeter Plus installed recently. When I was working on my Mav the other day, I managed to set off the alarm. An alert was also sent to my phone through the FordPass app. I don't think you get an audible or vibration alert though. My phone was in the house when I set it off, and I didn't notice the alert until later.

That's good to know...although I wish it would be an audible alert. But may get it anyways just to have.

You can probably configure it on your phone's notification so that it makes noise. At least you can on Androids. So even if you have your phone on silent or vibrate it'll still bypass that do not disturb and the current sound settings to emit a sound
