Just wanted to post a different option for Leer, I'm trying to decide between this and the ARE topper. I need the sliding windows for my dog's. The price is about $3000 for either the Leer or the ARE.

This is the one I have looked at, and quit looking as it did not look like I was ever going to get a build date. Now that I finally have a build date, and will finally get it one day, this and the spray in bed liner are on my list. Not going to buy anything until it is physically here.

Very smart, don't count your chickens before they hatch, I hope your Maverick arrives soon, I got mine 2 weeks ago, I've been adding items from my list, here's a before and after, but I still have a few items to add.

Glad they finally have a decent window option. I already bought a ARE MX topper though, gonna pick it up next week.

That's awesome, please post some pics afterwards. I still might go with the ARE, I can get that in 6 weeks, vs 15-20 weeks on the Leer.

Week 2 with the ARE MX. I'm liking it but it leaks water pretty good. Hasn't rained yet but supposed to tomorrow. I was mucking with it today trying to reseal. It's too heavy cumbersome to remove by myself. I added some extra foam, clamped it down a bit looser and called it a day. Next step is some type of drain catch and tube. Like a McDonald's cup cut in half with a tube. Leaking maybe not such a bid deal in Hawaii but will be annoying here come winter.

That's no good, I would hope the dealer that installed it would guarantee no leaks.

That's a complete pipe dream based on what I am seeing. All Maverick caps are going to leak some water, that's the only guarantee they'll provide. It's a unibody bed. Best bet is to DIY something to keep the water out and catch/drain what comes in.

I hope that's not the case, but I have seen plenty of posts where they do leak, but a few post where they don't. Maybe in the future they can redesign the bed to help with the leak issue.

FYI- I took it back in to the installer on Fri for one re-do. They don't let you watch and simply added one more layer of tape. Helped just a little. Water will remain undefeated.

Yeah I figure it will leak a bit, but we will be keeping it under cover at home and any water that gets in will roll out on our hills. Aside from that, ya know the silly fake vista window? It looks like it has a couple mounting heads on it. I was thinking about forming a piece that goes forward and covers the gap, maybe out of fiberglass or aluminum. But something that covers the gap should minimize any rain accumulation.

Doesnt help me in Hawaii, no dealers here, we are installing it in DesMoines where we pick up our truck.

You will definitely like the sliding rear windows. It can get awfully hot in back. It’s even worse now with the amount of heat created by the catalytic converters.
