I placed my order for a ‘23 Lariat Hybrid the morning order banks opened last year.

After months of no updates from Ford and reading not-so-hopeful articles on here about Hybrid production (or lack thereof), I had come to the assumption I wouldn’t ever see the truck.

On May 16th my dealer reached out to let me know my truck had been built (still never any updates from Ford), Thursday I was told it was delivered, and yesterday I drove it off the lot.

We happened to be traveling this weekend so the first trip was a 3-hour drive. Averaged just over 40mpg and my wife and I both loved the truck. Drives smooth, quietly, has more get-up than expected, sound quality is awesome, and the seats are way more comfortable than I could have imagined.

Now time to find a tri-fold and possibly a 2” lift (would prefer to sit a tad higher when driving on the highway to see ahead better). Good luck to everyone waiting!

Congratulations!!! I just got my 23 Maverick yesterday. The Maverick is a great truck and I hope you get a lot of practical use and personal enjoyment from it.

I guess it doesn’t matter now, but if I understand you correctly, you didn’t get ANY email updates from Ford?

Congrats to you, as well! I drive about 20k miles per year and only need the bed for Lowe’s runs, etc. so it should be perfect for me.

As for Ford updates, I got the very initial email stating my order was placed and then I got one other email in November telling me they’d update me every 45 days as well as when build was scheduled. Never heard a peep from them after that, even once the truck was built. I got all my updates from my dealer. Weird deal, but at least I got the truck.

Awesome. Got my '23 Lariat hybrid one week ago, already have 600 miles on it, averaging close to 44mpg on decent amount of highways and some up and down Pocono mountain roads. It's a great truck, and (sort of) worth the wait (my wait was 579 days).

No better feeling than delivery day for a new vehicle....congrats
You got that right. This was my first ever new vehicle purchase - felt pretty good looking down at a speedometer that was < 10 miles driving off the lot.

Whew! That’s a long wait. Congratulations to you!

Yes I’m certainly not saying that Ford had totally mastered customer communication because they haven’t. However I did get three 45-day emails, plus the other milestone notifications (scheduled for production, etc)

The one thing I was really disappointed in was the tracking process once it was shipped by rail. My truck sat in a rail yard in Chicago for 3.5 weeks and neither Ford nor my dealer could give me a straight answer as to when it would arrive at the dealership.

I only drive about 15k a year, and have never been an off-road guy, but now that I have a truck with some off-road capabilities, I may give it a shot. Like you, I mostly just haul stuff around occasionally.

Enjoy your truck!
