Alto Blue and PPF

I took delivery on my Alto Blue Lariat Lux a few days ago. and it appears that PPF was installed at the factory, but I hadn't ordered it. I don't see that the option is included with any of the other packages or options I ordered. So I was wondering if this was some kind of fluke, or does Alto come with PPF as part of the $495 price. I'm almost positive that the dealer didn't install it.

I've never had a vehicle with PPF, I'm new to this option, so I'm not sure if this is a good thing.

Also, I've got clear film door edge guards, not sure if that's standard.

Has anyone else with Alto, or any other color received PPF without requesting it?

The Area 51 XLT I bought off the lot last year had it but wasn’t listed on the window sticker

It didn’t come from the factory with any of that stuff and I’m sure it was not free.

I picked my truck up the end of October and it was still dirty from shipping when I went to look at it. There was no protective covering on anything. I sort of figured that's what you were talking about. Is it permanent or should they have been removed upon delivery.

None on my Alto Blue XLt Hybrid, that is now two days old. If it is not on the original window sticker, it was a dealer add on/profit center deal.

I can understand where your coming from, but the truck was a retail order, and if the dealer did the work, they didn't bill me for it, nor did they actually have the time to do it, ( No way was I letting it sit on the lot!) and they promised no addendums, and there was no up-sell attempts.

But to go back to the original post, since I haven't had a vehicle with this option, what am I to expect further on down the road, so to speak. Will this film last, or will I have to deal with removal later on.

It looks permanent, and professionally done. I'll try to grab a shot when the light is good.

I would leave it on if you like it. However, if you later on decide to remove it, heat it up gently with a hair dryer and peel very slowly. Don't pull straight out at 90 degrees to the surface, but pull back horizontally. That may prevent any paint from pulling off.

Sometime last month, before the truck was delivered, the dealer started addendums on stock units. When it arrived last week, they mistook the truck for a stock unit, and added the PPF, door edge protect, driver and passenger window tint, and door handle scuff protection. The product line they use is Valor. It's a "self-healing" film, but all the website says is easy cleaning, so I'm not sure that waxing is on the to-do list for the film. I'll keep it on for now to see how it weathers the Western NC roads.

So I DID get a freebie, just from the dealer, not factory, so kudos to those who guessed right. The Window tint is a very light shade, so I'll excuse myself from not noticing it.

The sales manager says, ahem, that his cost for the Valor system is $1600, and marks it up $700. I don't know if this is a typical rate, or whether he was "mistaken."

Enjoy the ppf ,my Toyota has it from the factory, son's Porsche also, both are five years old and still look new. Should last life of the car.
