The Works is $55 and offers the following:

• Oil change
• Tire rotation and pressure check
• Brake inspection
• Multi-point inspection
• Fluid top-off
• Battery test
• Filter check
• Belts and hoses check

Whereas the recommended scheduled maintenance is more expensive. It appears the only difference is that the scheduled maintenance includes a cabin air filter change. Which should I choose, The Works or Scheduled Maintenance? Additionally, if Scheduled Maintenance, what's the point of the Works if the oil lasts until maintenance anyway?

$55 for an oil change and tire rotation is super cheap, assuming that includes oil/filter. I'll bet you couldn't even buy the parts to do it yourself for that little.

Changing the cabin air filter is generally a pretty easy operation (5-10 mins) and the filters are like $10-15. I'm all about letting someone else work on my stuff these days, but even I'll tackle that to save money.

You are only required to use synthetic if it’s a hybrid and once you use synthetic you cannot go back to normal oil. Synthetic is cleaner but normal oil has better gasket conditioners to keep the seals in good shape.
What makes you think you cannot go back and forth between full synthetic and conventional oil?

That's a helluva deal. My dealership still charges me the regular $129 cost for the oil and filter change even though I bring my own oil ( 6 quarts of Amsoil Signature Series).

Is that price from a dealership or a shop?

Every auto tech. I’ve ever talked to.

I’ve talked with several mechanics that say that new vehicles will not adjust to it. Something about sensors, etc. and can make the vehicle not respond appropriately. Could be wrong, it’s just people in the industry have told me.

When I finally went in @ 23,000 miles for my first oil change (oil notice and app said it was time) I was told I had to use synthetic. The dealer here quoted just under $100 for the Works and a dealer in SC charged me $68. Guess who my new dealer is lol! I ordered the cabin filter on Amazon and will change it myself if I ever get my truck back for the airbag recall 😖

I think you are being given some bad information my guy. I am sure you've heard of synthetic blend oil?

Ok thanks. I’ll let the auto techs know you said it was ok next time I get an oil change. 😂

I was a technician. I built boats and an airplane for the US Navy. I worked for a legend in drag racing. I also raced motorcycles for more than a decade. And, have been an advisor for 20 years. The techs you are talking to are idiots if they are telling you this. I am not picking on you, but as I have said many times in other threads. People getting bad or stupid advice on forums makes my job more difficult than it should be.

Don't take it personally. These forums can be amazing tools full of useful information for all kinds of people, including myself. They can also be places where people spout, or regurgitate absolute nonsense. And then I have a client come in and want to argue my job because he picked up some of that crap information on said forums.

I’m not. I was done with this 4 posts ago. You just keep replying to me. I’ve been done with it. I feel like you are getting more upset than person should over a forum post. But I’m ready to move on. 👍
