I'm more than 70% highway and have a 4K tow ecoboost awd. A hybrid isn't interesting to me because I do fewer than 10K personal miles and 15-20K business miles, and the gas is paid on business trips. The capability of the vehicle is a lot more important and while a hybrid is certainly useful, I'd rather have AWD, 4k towing, and tremendous ability to pass on 2 lane highways is even more useful.
So yeah, switch. And no guarantees but there are 6 months of production left. You'll probably get a truck but it depends on your dealership's allocations and the options you choose. Order the truck you want & need. Don't settle. But my argument is that, no, you don't need a hybrid.
