Anyone ever use one of these.plugs into diagnostics port and other end connects to 12 battery .supposed to keep you from losing all your electrical settings when changing battery.

Read page 18 of your manual....There's a warning there.

I was REALLY surprised about the insurance comment (I'd never give that sort of access to an insurance company). But I figured if they mentioned that, they would be far more concerned about Forscan and things like that where a lot of "alteration" can be done. I bought a Forscan app to reset my new battery placement in my C-Max...after the dealer asked me "What's a C-Max?" and let me know he had no clue what needed to be done. I now know there is another way to reset it other than Forscan, but I didn't at the time.
I agree, likely zero real issues and wouldn't hurt, but I want to be sure that I give Ford ZERO reason to argue with a warranty issue.
