These things are placebo. I don't think I have seen a single source that validates spending money on one actually stops a theft. If they are already under your vehicle with a saw ready to cut it off, a couple cables aren't going to make them stop and move on.

Park in a garage, or keep highly visible cameras and lighting on them. These devices aren't doing squat.
Seems to me that taking additional actions that can possible deter is better than doing nothing on the actual vehicle... just my thoughts
What did that cost you if you don't mind me asking?

LOL. That would be the best possible solution...other than move out of high crime areas (which also tend to be high cost of living area's).
You never hear of cat theft out where I live because everyone carries a gun.

The things don't work.
I've done EXTENSIVE research.

Some "devices" can be cut with a saw.
Some "devices" can be cut with a grinder wheel.

If a thief has one of each, nothing will stop them. The devices you add, add 20 to 30 seconds to Cat removal time.

BEST advice is put a cheap knock-off catalytic converter on your truck, and keep the good OEM one inside as a spare.

The EASIER YOU MAKE IT to take off, the less damage thieves will do.

DO NOT put clamps and cables under your truck. It won't stop theft. It will create more damage as they make MULTIPLE WHACKS AND HACKS under your truck. Better to mark the Cat "CUT HERE" so they do it cleanly, get away with a cheap knock-off, and you'll have a cheap repair.

Park with doors unlocked and leave nothing inside. No one steals radios anymore since they are custom per vehicle and not interchangeable.

Windows are broken and locks are destroyed just to look inside your vehicle. Best to allow them to look around, take nothing, and damage nothing in the process.

Sad but true.

And if your vehicle is stolen while unlocked, good luck with the insurance claim. ;) And before you say, how will they know? As long as the vehicle is recovered, they can check the vehicle logs.

Hogwash. They can't start it without a key. If they can jerry-rig that, it matters not what I do with the door. Think.

You under estimate car thieves. Think. :p The insurance companies don't care, if the vehicle isn't locked, you won't be covered.

Speak for yourself. Maybe in your country. I've read my policy top to bottom and asked all the pertinent questions. No worries here.

Many companies have clauses that require you to take steps to prevent theft of your vehicle to receive coverage. Not locking your vehicle would be more than enough excuse not to give you coverage. I can only assume the people who don't lock their vehicles live in the boonies.
