I was in the market for a tonneau cover and had a roll up aluminum one on my F150 and loved the low profile look of it, but didn't care for the operation of it. When I got the 2022 Maverick I started to look at the retractable ones. Soon realized I also wanted the t tracks built into the rails of the covers so I could put crossbars, ladder racks, etc. Most of what I found with those options started around $1600. Seemed a little steep for a short bed like on the Maverick.

Eventually I found one for under $1000 and fortunately they gave a 10% discount at the time so it ended up right around $900 plus tax. Its not as low profile as I would have liked but so far I really like it.

I'm considering one of these retractables myself, but the prices are turning me off. What model did you get? Link?

Looks nice, but very concerned those lock covers will eventually break-off. Especially here in northeast with freezing temps. Locks with then be exposed and rust and fill with grime.

Definitely understand where you are coming from, I also live in New England. One thing I saw a few other brands with the same similar setup for much more. Also the locking mechanism comes out really easy so as long as they have replacement parts shouldn’t be to bad.

That looks great, what are you using for your bed divider?

This looks super similar to the stock tonneau cover that comes with the Hyundai Santa Cruz. It’s a nice cover, but like the Santa Cruz cover, it takes up some space in the back of the bed.

Curious though, is it easy to install and remove the tonneau cover without much effort?

It wasn’t too bad to install, and with anything first time is always the longest. Would be much easier to remove then reinstall. I could probably install it now in an hour. First time took about 2.

Stock Ford divider. I might suggest the aftermarket one because it actually flips up out of the way but I had $250 in Ford rewards so I went with the stock one.

Just curious how much space is there above the bed wheelhouse and the bottom of the canister? I would like the ability to slide several sheets of drywall or plywood in between the two of them. Like you, I also like the fact that you can add a rack.

I just installed a BakFlip G2 tri-fold hard bed cover that "tips up" by the rear window once fully opened. Its very well made and gives maximum access to the bed when open. There are self-storing supports on each side once opened and tipped to hold the folded cover in place with three large self-adhesive "bumpers" in the unlikely event it makes contact with the rear window. Very neat look as it lays even with the black plastic bed trim. It also has a "gutter and drain tube" system to minimize water getting into the bed. If you can swing spending in the area of $1k, its worth it.
