The hybrid doesn't have an alternator, it's done by stepping down HV DC to 12V. It doesn't need to have the engine running to charge the 12v battery.
There must be something that charges the high voltage battery from the gas engine. If that component is not technically an alternator that's fine, but it is some kind of generator.

There's the starter-generator, yes, but if the HVB charge gets low then it starts the engine. But point being whenever the HV system is energized, engine running or no, it can be charging the 12V.

That might have been your point, yes, but in my reply you quoted I'm talking about if you have a hybrid with a 12v battery that is discharged you can't force the engine to run like you can with an ecoboost.

Regardless, it should run the engine if the high voltage and 12v batteries are low. If a hybrid is not sitting a long time without being started, there's probably some issue to be corrected if the 12v battery is low.

It's so frustrating, no app features, always dark on the inside, cant light up the bed - to you know, do truck stuff at night like I bought it for.

I always wondered that if its always charging the 12v - is it taking away from hybrid activities and gas mileage?

In hybrid ice runs and adds charge to HVB then shuts off. HVB continues to furnish current for among other things charging the 12v. The ice will be restarted to charge HVB from 30% to 40% and continue this until truck is turned off or the 12v is charged. Just sitting like this and lights, AC, etc off the ice may only come on for a few minutes in an hour.

Hi all. Picked up my Lariat Tremor about 10 days ago! So far it’s a great ride. I have been away for a week, so it’s been seven days since I started it. (Has 100 total miles in the three days I drove it before parking). Just noticed today when I open the doors, the dome light is no longer coming on, and the driving lights nor bed lights are illuminating when I hit the unlock button or open the door as they had been my first few days with the truck. I haven’t tried starting it yet, as it’s been a little rainy today so don’t plan to go for a drive until tomorrow. Just curious if there is some kind of hidden feature I don’t know about that would make this happen after sitting for a week? Being a Tremor, it’s obviously an Ecoboost and not a hybrid. The FordPass app is not showing any Alerts or Notifications. Hoping this is common and not an issue, but curious if anyone has had a similar thing happen? Thanks!
Check your fuse box.

I just looked at battery in my 2.0 Tremor I picked up Thursday 8/24/23 and it has a nice AGM 12v battery if I remember correctly I think it said 760CCA so exceeds capacity of my 5amp noco genius so will have to get a 10amp upgrade noco.EDIT TO ADD. CHECKED BATTERY IS 70AmpHours SO 5AMP NOCO IS ADEQUATE!! NOTE the negative wire from the battery post over to the negative jump post. The white tag nearest to neg battery post is on the BMS for the 12v battery. Properly charged periodically this battery should last many years.
