Seems like every time I get into the Sync 3 system, that it is not connected to my home Wi-Fi.

Once you've connected to your home Wi-Fi, shouldn't the system reconnect automatically when the vehicle is, for example, sitting in the garage just a few feet away from the home Wi-Fi router?

You'd think so, right? And maybe it is, but every time I go into it, it acts as though it's not connected... (Hybrid Latiat/Lux First Edition)

I leave my truck wifi off. What are you using it for?

Don't know about the OP, but I want the Sync3 updates to "automatically" update as Ford claims they will... So far, I'm 0 for 3... Had to do all three updates via USB stick.

Ahh, I have those turned off as well. Mine works flawlessly and I've never had a reboot. I don't want any updates they put out messing that up or blocking features I have now.

Haven’t had that issue nor any others with mine so far. You would think it would always be connected automatically when in range. Maybe try a reset to see if that helps

Yeah, that's kind of the idea. Software updates.

It's supposed to update automatically when Ford sends an update out. I've been able to get one update since I bought the vehicle (early February) but I had to sit there in the car in the garage, connect the Wi-Fi, select "connect to Wi-Fi" then "check for updates" and when I saw one was available, I selected "update" and it worked fine.

But I think it's supposed to happen in the background any time an update is available and the vehicle is within range of the Wi-Fi

your wifi setting there constantly communicating or trying to burns battery. with the sleep mode issues reported it seems prudent to leave it disabled unless needed.
