Hi everyone,
I had an order in for a Maverick XLT in hot pepper red , AWD, Ecoboost, Tow Packege, moon roof, roll up bedliner, spray in bedliner, upgraged wheels etc. My order was confirmed by Ford Email. I am worried that due to spray in bedliner going to the lux package and no availability of rollup bedliner that I will never see my vehicle produced. It was ordered through Chapman in Philly in June.

Has Ford said when the constraints will be lifted or if they plan to notify customets they cannot order certain options. I am worried I have an order that will continuously be pushed back and never built. Any thoughts from the insiders on this?

I ordered my Maverick on Saturday (XLT, Luxury Package, Co Pilot 360, all weather mats and splash guards), and was called by the dealer today to tell me about the splash guard limitation, so I had them remove it. Best bet is to try and get those items removed from your build, then order them from the parts department later.

I would tend to agree with you, but after removing drop in for spray in only to have that being delayed, removed the bed extender, removed the mud guards, removed roll up bedliner, added 360 package thinking it would move it along if priced higher with options. No such luck, still in limbo. Wish they would have just told us, this is what we have take it or leave it with no delay. FORD, YOU ARE TICKING US OFF.

If you have the spray-in liner as part of the Lux package it shouldn't be an issue, however it seems like it could be a constraint as a stand-alone item. The tonneaus also appear to be in the same boat. Since you can already order that as an accessory with your dealer, who can install it for you at the time of delivery (or after the fact), that is probably the best option (or find an aftermarket alternative).

All these add ons are made by other companies, so Ford can't know for certainty what parts it's going to have from week to week. So they build what they can with the parts they have. This is the hard of trying to go to a build to order model. If Ford had just tarted building Mavericks, they would've just built the trucks with the parts they could get, but the flip side of that is having unpopular units sitting on dealer lots.

I am guessing that the only way the Maverick is profitable for Ford is by building to order so they never need to offer incentives.

What are the chances that the accessories will cost the same from Parts Dept? Im thinking about dropping vent shades/floor liners/tonneau in order to speed up my order, but dont want to pay dealer markup for parts ???

All accessories are priced on the Ford website - if your dealer is going to mark those items up, what are they going to do to you when you go in to pay for your truck?!

I thought about having items like that in my order, but decided against it - the only options I have are ones that can only be done at the factory. Think of it this way - if Ford can fulfill 100 orders and there are 200 people waiting. Everyone has the same build, but 50 people ordered floor mats. Now, if you are working with this information in a spreadsheet or a database, and are applying filters to determine the path of least resistance in selecting orders, you'd probably first apply filters for options that can ONLY be done at the factory. In this scenario, even if floor mats aren't technically a constraint item, your order is bypassed just because it will be easier to select and build 100 vehicles that didn't order floor mats.

Now, I am sure the process is more complicated than this, but...why risk having to wait longer for your truck over floor mats, or a tonneau, or splash guards - all of which can be added later?

No Hybrid XLT Luxury Package trucks got scheduled last week. So there is something about that combination that is a constraint.

Keep in mind there were hybrids that were scheduled, and there were XLT Lux that were scheduled. But none that were a combination of the two.

I know absolutely nothing, but am loosely assuming that the Hybrid XLT LUX is one of if not THE most popular combination of build. I wonder if they are trying to stockpile those components for a major run to gain efficiencies in the factory. IE - Have 20K orders that they would like to run as close together as possible on a specific 1-2 lines at the factory.

Don't know the in's and out's of vehicle production, so not sure if that makes sense.

This is completely anecdotal, but I called my dealer to remove the soft tonneau cover from my 2.0EB AWD order (he was dubious). I got the "in production" email in the following week. So there may be truth to all this madness.

yeah, I noticed that pattern too.

All I can do is wait for my Hybrid XLT.

Sorry if this has already been answered, but does anyone know if you can edit your order directly with Ford? My sales guy has not answered my last two inquiries about changing my order and it's really pissing me off.

From here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...ick-order-tracking-list-stats-enter-yours.165

2008 Maverick's are ordered
65.4% are Hybrids or 1313 Hybrids total ordered

49.4% are XLT or 649 XLT Hybrids
29.6% are Lariat or 389 Lariat Hybrids

Of the 649 XLT Hybrids only 34.8% have the LUX package or 226 total
Of the 389 Lariat Hybrids only 34.1% have the LUX package or 133 total

Total of Hybrids ordered with the LUX package is 359.

Of the total orders of 1313 Hybrids only 359 have the LUX package or 27.3%

I heard about the hold on mud guards and pulled that from my order. Based on your analysis I should also remove my floor mats. I had no idea this was going to be a thing. Live and learn
