I was wondering if anyone has ordered any A pillar trim pieces yet? If anyone has please let me know if it comes with the airbag tether cord.
I'm making three ways so I have to cut into the pillars and mold new ones so I'm getting some news ones to mess around with and just hoping I don't have to take that cord out of my existing ones.

What 3 piece components are you planning to use?

I would not recommend putting anything in the A pillar cover because it needs to blow outward when the airbag deploys. Typically they kind of hinge and swing down, and I think any kind of speaker mounted there would restrict movement which could lead to the airbag not deploying at all, or correctly.

I have mentioned in other threads that I also don't like the sail panel / mirror caps for tweeters because the cover is so janky. Mine are double stick taped in place now, after the connectors basically became unusable after only removing them twice. (Once to install speakers, once for sound deadening.)

I know there are concerns about the window track but probably you could find room on the door panels to surface mount the mid & tweeter in a good location?

Another crazy idea, if you haven't bought speakers yet, is something on a tall pod mounted on the dash, like this: https://kicker.com/47KSMT2504-dual-pod-component-system

The main reason for the a pillar trim is because I will be doing a 3 way and I don't have room on the dash for both my 1.5 tweeter and the 2.5 inch midrange that I might be taking back for a 3 inch. I'll show some pictures from the diyma forum that inspired me for what I'm gonna do. Now I'm no where near nick's level of skill considering he is top 5 in the world lol

How about an A-pillar with built-in gauge pod mount?

Could remove the factory tweeter covers and convert them into a gauge pod for both the mid and tweet in a coax fashion. Similar to what was done above. Or use the sail panel for the tweeters.

Sorry everyone I just now saw this.
So the where the tweeter will be going on the a pillar is right next to where the mid will be in the dash so it won't effect how the a pillar blows off with how low it is.
I'll be doing most likely a fiberglass piece that fits onto the dash for the mid as the standard cover now definitely won't work, so I'm think of raising it up maybe a inch and tilting how the mid will be placed as well for better reflections.
I've called a few more ford dealers and parts customer service and no one knows if the come with the tether cord and I can't find someone with the passenger side only driver side.
