A-pillar speaker?

I see my first maverick at a dealer this week, XL trim. I noticed the a pillar at eye height on the driver side had perforations similar to a speaker. Just the driver side though, nothing on the passenger a pillar. Is this a speaker. A microphone? Neither?

I've used it quite a bit seems to work pretty good haven't had anyone complain on a call although rear passengers have to speak loudly to be heard which is understandable with only one microphone

Ok, microphone is where I was leaning but the sales person insisted it was a speaker.

Only 6 speakers unless is Lariat Lux, so it would be an odd place for a speaker, the salesman is clueless.
