Ford has stopped shipping replacements for the airbag recall ?

Just returned from a CA dealer in a major city.

Said:
"No air bag stock until Q3 2023."

"The few we have are only for people with MIL "lights" on, or to replace bags already deployed."

Basically, don't call us, we'll call you. You can't just get it done because you want it. You need to have a bona-fide problem. That said. The airbags in there now are 99.99% effective so just ignoring this one isn't a bad option.

Not true. The parts availability/ordering process changed a few weeks ago.

There are still many in Ford's parts depots. Some depots have none, which means that it may take longer for the dealer to get them in. Looks to me like there are plenty in CA.

I ordered one for my own Maverick last week, it arrived the next day.

I was told by my dealer that ford has stopped shipping replacements for the air bag< I even had it set up to have dealer to pickup my mav to do the work,but the day it was to be done no one came to get it,so I called dealer and that is when the said that ford was not shipping the bags,has anyone else heard of this,I have got 2 notices from ford about it

I read an article that said there was a pending law suit saying the recall repairs were not an adequate fix. I would guess there is no reason to do it twice to get it right, why not wait until it is settled? I for one am not worried about mine enough to push the recall replacement.

I wish they told me over the phone that they had to order the part. Drove 30 minutes and waited 10 for them to tell me that I wasted my time and money. They scheduled the fucking appointment! I’m annoyed.
