After seeing so many people post up raving reviews of Lasfit and their LED's, I had to give it a try. I will admit that this is the first time I have ever swapped LED bulb(s) into a vehicle. I just never saw the benefit. After watching Redneck Garage's video on the reverse lights, I was in agreement to replace all the rear lights. Seems like a lot of Mavericks get totaled from rear end hits. At least that is what mostly I see at salvage auctions.
I swapped the Stop, Taill and Turn bulbs, the Reverse bulbs and the front drl/ turn signal up front. The switchbacks just look cool, that's why I did that. The reverse and STT I saw as a YUUUUGE improvement over incan bulbs. I used a 1/4' ratchet with a 8mm socket. I also used a non marring plastic wedge tool since the taillights lens needs to be popped out on an angle after removing screws. I unplugged the housing/ bulbs and laid the housing on a blanket. I then removed the clips holding the wiring to the housing so it was easy to remove the bulbs. Then just did the reverse to reinstall. Haven't had a chance to try out the reverse lights (very dark where I live) but Wednesday will give me a good chance and I can update then.
Lastly, I ordered a set of reverse bulbs for the F150. It was actually the same for the Maverick however when installing I noticed that I have LED's and I sent an email to Lasfit about returning. They asked me to double check and offered a return shipping label (pretty good cust service & free returns? Amazon?
After double checking and confirming indeed I have LED's and that the XLT in general may be LED reverse lights, they just said to keep them and refunded me. Customer service was overseas (China) since they are 13 hours ahead and we were emailing on a Sunday evening. All in all I couldn't be happier. I do plan on installing a 12" lasfit bar in the front of the maverick. I'll update more on that when I get to it.
