I decided to add the Lux Package to my XLT to improve my odd of getting a hitch. Not thrilled with the $1700 extra but beats the 800ish to add a hitch if I don’t get it from the factory. Not that the heated seats won’t be nice if it actually gets built. Also counting on if I get this maverick this year will beat the possible increase next year. Also High MPGs will be awesome!

My salesman was trying to tell me it would slow down my order since it would change my order date. I just said no it won’t thanks to Tim’s videos. I am sure I annoy them since I watch too many videos on the Maverick.

Was really tempted by the 4k AWD but figured EB Mavericks might become easier to get this summer or next year if I change my mind. Also might be used one if I don’t get a Hybrid.

You couldn't just add the $100 hitch?

I just did the same, ditched the stand alone hitch and added XLT LUX. Two things I have to have are a hybrid and a hitch. So switching from the stand-alone hitch to the LUX to get a hitch works for me. All the waiting means I will have saved up the price difference by the time I get the truck. I like my dealership/salesperson but my salesperson does not know what is contained or about the bed utility discount package but when they added the two items there was the discount. Just got to keep watching the ford video guy for help.

Adding a after-market hitch does not include the wiring harness. So if you don't need that then yea you can add just a hitch after. The Ford Video Guy does not recommend trying to install an after-market wiring harness because there are no approved options. And if you do and there are electrical problems then Ford will not cover the fixes. So if you need the 4 pin connector with the wiring harness then you need to get it factory installed. At least for now. Then you have to decide if you want the highly constrained stand-alone hitch or get a less contained but more expensive package that includes a hitch.

I meant if you were adding the package couldn't you just instead the factory hitch? Or was that not an option?

The factor stand-alone hitch one of the items most contained and will keep your truck from getting built. The packages (XLT LUX) are less contained and so you will hopefully get your truck faster but they still include the hitch.

It's available both standalone and in the XLT/Lariat Luxury Packages.

However, as noted above, they're going to prioritize the higher profit Luxury Packages over the hitch ordered by itself. In part because they're below capacity on those packages, in part because they'd rather save the hitches for the more profitable package. For obvious reasons.

Got it. I wasn't aware of the constraint but that makes sense. I somehow lucked out and my hybrid XLT with only a hitch was built last week. I assumed the hitch would be the least constrained item.

A lot of us assumed the same. Which I think was the problem. I would have preferred to save the cash but I will totally enjoy the heated seats.

Same if I get it. Also the plug in the bed may be good for some quick cuts on 2x4s.

Most saws are going to draw more current than the 400W inverter can supply. Even a jigsaw is probably too much.
