Folks, you CAN change from hybrid to Ecoboost - Ford sent a memo to dealers sales departments yesterday...

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...count-package-current-constraints-info.24779/

As a reminder, even though the 2023MY retail order bank is closed, customers are still able to make changes to their orders prior to the order being scheduled for production. Unlike in 2022MY where changes to retail orders impacted retail order receipt date and subsequent prioritization, any changes to 2023MY retail orders (including powertrain) will not impact vehicle scheduling as this is determined by dealer allocation and available commodities.

it's the FIRST time I have seen anything in writing saying it can be done...

Not just no, HELLS NO.

The hybrid is almost as fast ( ya really )
The hybrid is almost as capable (way under rated in the stats)

The hybrid uses half as much gas.
The hybrid is so relaxing. It lowers your stress and blood pressure in congested traffic and how do you put a price on that? The slower you go, the more money you save. And in bumper to bumper traffic where you have NO CHOICE about your speed, so nice and calming to know 10 cents per minute is going into your pocket. Call it a consolation prize for being stuck in traffic.

Hybrids in general will add years to your life. Less stress (and less pollution too).

Missing AWD is the ONLY compromise in my book.

I think if you are in lots of city driving it's a no brainer. Stick with Hybrid.

I ordered the Hybrid purposely for the fact it was a Hybrid Truck, and a Ford.
I dont want to abandon ship. But I'm really starting to have doubts i'll ever get mine, unless i'm extremely lucky.

So don't wait for "yours".

Shop around. Easy with the internet today. Be willing to drive 200 / 300 / 400 miles to go get one.

Then go pick one up off the lot.
MSRP is starting to come back in style.

It's happened.
People have found small town dealers with people who declined to pick up orders willing to sell at MSRP because the dealers still get them for under.

I walked onto a lot IN THE BIG CITY and drove home with one. $3k premium at the peak of the frenzy in September. The frenzy is slowing. But I considered that a reasonable fee for not waiting. I also needed to tow on a long trip in October. So it was right price at the right time for me. Not suffering is worth something.

Do you like the Alto Blue? I switched mine to that colour awhile back.

For the heck of it, I checked for Hybrids at the dealer I ordered mine from. They have a 2023 Maverick hybrid for $28K?

I chose Alto Blue from the online order system without actually seeing one.

Then I started calling local dealers.
Luck be had the first dealer had a cancelled Alto Blue XLT. I figured it was meant to be. So I grabbed it.

It looks black in all light other than direct bright sunlight. Even then it will look black from a distance. Very dark blue. Could call it "midnight" blue.

Love it in the sun when it's clean.
Gets dusty fast though but I have to park outside 24/7 which doesn't help.

The probably list MSRP.
ACTUAL out the door price can vary. Call them.

Some are sneaky and claim they have to list all inventory, even pre-sold inventory not yet picked up. So call.
You might get lucky.

My prediction is the answer will be overwhelmingly "no" simply because the hybrid is the reason most people even looked at the Maverick to begin with.
