Dealer says in previewing stage, Ford chat doesn't..

I tried to search previous posts in here but couldn't find an answer. My dealer told me I'm in 'previewing' stage as of today, however Ford chat said I was still 'order received and unscheduled clean awaiting a build week'.

I thought previewing meant you'd be scheduled the following week? I also thought Ford chat would reflect the same status that the dealer would tell me. If that's wrong, what exactly should I expect being in previewing stage?

Did you ask the chat rep what your priority code was?
Previewing is PC2 and means the dealership has earned an allocation for your build and it’ll be scheduled if it’s buildable. If you have constraints they’ll go next truck down the line at your dealership.

After they gave me their initial response, I asked him if they actually knew whether or not it was in previewing mode. Their response was they gave me all the information they had at their disposal. I've learned that sometimes Ford chat will give you the priority code and other times they won't. But I believe this rep gave me all the information they had in front of them.

They likely just didn’t know what previewing is. If they had given you a different PC I’d be concerned, but even at PC2 their generic answer is still correct and doesn’t contradict the dealer telling you you’re PC2.

Thanks for the help on the priority code part. When you say they got an allocation and makes it buildable, that means I could be schedule next week, or in a month, or in 3 months, or there's really no rhyme or reason?... Depending on constraints?

If it helps: 23 XLT, EB, atlas, FWD, moonroof, cp360, bap

Unfortunately I’m not up to snuff on MY23 constraints, but based on MY22s I’d expect you to get scheduled. CP360 shouldn’t be enough to hold you back, but BAP we didn’t have.
Do you watch @fordvideoguy Tim’s livestreams? He does an awesome job at laying out what it’ll hold you up and setting realistic expectations.

FWIW, there is nothing listed on your order that is a current constrain. In fact, for the moonroof and CP360, Ford said about a month ago orders were well below capacity.

On paper, the EBs should be scheduled over the next few months if Ford keeps up their announced 35-65 hybrid-to-EB ratio. HOWEVER, an important caveat to that will be allocations. If a dealer has no allocations left, then it won't matter how clean your order is. But as you live in Tampa, I would imagine you are using a sizeable dealer that should have enough allocations over the course of the year to more than cover their EB orders.

Yeah constraints have been all over the place the last month I've noticed.

I have watched Tim Bartz a few times but didn't get clarity on whether or not preview stage means you will be definitely scheduled the next week, or within a month, or it means absolutely nothing... That's what I was really wondering?

Es7129 on this thread mentioned that if I'm in previewing then my dealership has already earned an allocation that could be applied to my build. I understand the allocations part, what I don't understand is the exact meaning of 'previewing' stage.

Does 'previewing stage' mean I'm automatically going to be scheduled next week, or within a month, or does it mean nothing in regards to scheduling?

Not just that they have an allocation, but they specifically got it for your build. It’s just a matter of if they can build it. If there aren’t constraints, and Bob confirmed you don’t have any, you’re getting scheduled this week.

Previewing does NOT mean you get scheduled in 1 week. Also, don't expect your dealer and CS to be in sync on much of anything- the norm is for them NOT to have the same info at same time. Also, when you get built notice the Ford tracking page will NOT be in sync with Ford CS or your dealer. Mine showed "built" and I got an email from Ford telling me same. Then "shipped" a couple weeks later, then It never updated again- even after I got my truck.

Lol... You say I should get scheduled next week in my situation, then Old Ranchero chimed in and said it's not definite. Score is 1-1... who's next to vote? 🤣

I will weigh in, I was at Priority 2 from October 21 until March/April 22. It means you are in the game, just riding the bench until they can build yours.
You can see in my signature how the game went.

Good luck!

It’s not definite, it has to be buildable and there needs to be scheduling.

Ok.. so ultimately previewing doesn't mean a damn thing. I could be scheduled next week or in 6 months... Depending on other variants.
