My dealer called me the other day and said they had a check for me. Not knowing what this was about but always willing to take money when offered I headed over. My sales person said it was a rebate because of price adjustment protection based on when I ordered my truck. The check was for a little over $550, which is a very welcome surprise right before Christmas.

Not sure if this is just my dealer or if it will be company wide but everyone might want to check with their dealer to see if you have the same thing.

That seems something specific to your dealer, I’m not aware of any Ford corporate program that would offer that.

It makes sense if they did not price protect you (deduct that ~500 from the sale price) when you purchased. Ford always had a plan to send the price protected difference to your dealer 30-45 days after the sale. The difference here is that your dealer did not simply pocket it and was honest enough to pass it along to you.

It isn't from Ford directly. Your dealer was reimbursed for the price increase, and they have passed that on to you.

Some dealers are offering the "price-protection" up front. Some are reimbursing afterwards like yours. Some are doing nothing and keeping it for themselves.

Yes, I am waiting for a refund as well. How long did it take to get the check?

Price protection should be $1750 for Ecoboost, and $2750 for Hybrid. Looks like you're a little short ;)
Are you getting price protection mixed up with the MY23 order transition offer? That's a flat amount depending on engine option for those whose MY22 orders weren't fulfilled.

The price protection amount is specific to each order as different trims and options changed in price by different amounts. It is Ford's way of honoring the original price at time of order.

Yeah, I suppose if you ordered a '22 in Nov '21 and it wasn't built until Aug '22, there would just be the price difference protection. Couldn't tell from the OP's original comment exactly what it was. Always nice to get some cash back ;)

The transition offer is also a PCO (Private Cash Offer/targeted incentive), and is applied as a point-of-sale rebate (dealer deducts the amount at time of sale, then they receive the rebate from Ford), unless the customer opts otherwise.

Yeah, they got me with some automatic extras added on but they have been mostly honest about the whole process. So other than getting a stupid pin stripe and some window tint that I didn't want, which they said they do for all trucks they sell, and being charged a premium for that, I never felt like I was being ripped off. They are part of a large automotive buying group and are publicly traded so I guess they have fairly straight forward policies, I dunno.

My dealership charged me the sticker price, they told me that when Ford sends them the 'price protection' monies, then they would send me a check for the difference. They did. The check was from the dealership, not Ford. My original sticker was $31680, I dropped off a few items that were in low supply, brought the price to $31000. My sticker was for $32840. I got back the difference two weeks after picking up my Maverick.

My dealer, McCombs Ford West in San Antonio Texas promised me I'd receive a check after 45 days from delivery (September 23 2022)to cover the difference from what they charged me from what the MSRP was from the date I ordered. Took 14 1/2 months to get delivery of my 2022 Maverick.
That 45 days was up NOVEMBER 7 and I'm still waiting. Tried calling the Sales Manager, no response. Emailed the Dealership wanting the email for the GM, no response other than to ask me if I wanted to order a new car!
I sent a blistering email to them yesterday and was promised a Mgr would email me back today. Well, NO RESPONSE again and the day's over.
Looks like I'm going to have to drive over there and pin down the Manager who initially promised me the refund something that I hoped could be avoided.
My advice, STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP, McCOMBS FORD WEST in San Antonio Texas. They are a bunch of crooks.

Out of the blue I received a "Price Protection" check from AutoNation Ford for $1,223 today. No explanation, just a check. Hybrid Lariat ordered June 23rd 2021. Delivered August 18th 2022.
