Hello everyone. Just picked up my 2022 Ford Maverick XLT this week. Loved them since the day they were announced. Finally found one with the specs I was looking for and a price that was "reasonable". Hard to turn down a 2.0T, AWD, heated seats, remote start, and tow package in a daily driven MI car.

Not planning to mod this one nearly as much as the car it replaced (I went all out). Aiming for simple mods that allow me to keep my MPG, have a little fun, and not void the warranty. @Brian Goodwin (no relation) is making me lean heavily towards lowering the truck. Though in MI that's always a gamble. Plus it limits the potential off-road shenanigans.

Plans:
Suspension - Shocks/springs/camber adjustment/sway bars
Engine - MRT Exhaust
Brakes - Pads/rotors/lines
Protection - LineX bed liner and under coating

Pics of the Maverick the day I bought it, plus one of the previous project it replaced.

Drove from the north side of Metro Detroit to Grand Rapids and back. Started the day with a full tank and filled up to 35psi before I left. 325 miles and 29 mpg. I have to say I’m impressed. I did not expect it to nail the testing estimates.

Yes us here in Michigan do not get as much snow anymore as we used to, but the awd maverick was awesome last year for me. Same as the other member said even using the spring kit to lower it (as I’m planning as well) should be just fine for snow and “rallying” on them off road scenarios 😉

So about that self-control…

A big thanks to @MRTperformance for squeezing me in Friday. Going to get the exhaust done so I can actually hear the truck. Also getting the front tint to match the rears later that day.

Also, my brother has a 17 Escape and is in need of new tires. So my factory wheels and tires are coming off. It might look a little goofy with Turbomacs on 235/60/18 since I won’t have the lowering springs installed yet, but worth it if it fixes his dad mobile.

I was with ya until I heard the fart tip.
I don’t hear it, but maybe that’s me. Luckily tips can be changed out. If it does end up bothering me I may cut and convert to a turndown.

Sounds like every clapped out Honda Civic in my town. Nothing against you or MRT, I just don't like hearing stock 4 cylinders.

High compression, rowdy cam, big turbo and well tuned sounds great, but stock with exhaust is just "LOOK WHAT I CAN DO" in my best Stuart voice.

To each their own. I’m coming from a full bolt on turbo Civic. So clearly I have a preference and tolerance. Since I’m not building this motor, I at least wanted to be able to hear it. The tone is good and there’s minimal drone.

The next proper project with be a 2.0T Accord. That engine will receive a lot more attention to every little detail.

Stuart. Stuart! Stuarttttt.

Wheels in the daylight and an MPG shot post upgrade. Tires may have been slightly overinflated, but still getting 28+ on all terrains is a win to me.

Just waiting on SPC to fix up their camber kit design so my front/rear kit can ship and the suspension bits can be installed.
