Now that we are experiencing winter in Diego :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
I have noticed that morning temps have fallen now below 55F I have seen a 3-4mpg on average drop in efficiency.

I have gone from 45 mpg to 41 at 55F and now that the morning is at 45F in the mornings I am averaging 40 mpg....

Noticed the sweet spot for best MPG has been 65-75F.

When it was hot at 100F the morning temps on those days has been in the sweet range but I have not driven much at the 100F to see the real drop on the high temperature operating range. As the temp drops in the afternoon so never get to experience hot driving!

I am sure some of you peeps have a more dynamic range to deal with then I have.

I think the efficiency in cold weather improves when the coolant temperature warms up. I believe the ICE runs until the coolant temperature rises above the outside temperature. This takes me 10-15 minutes of driving.

If you can stand it, you may see improved efficiency by turning off the climate control.

Dropped straight into Winter temps in South Central Texas (30-50s) about a month earlier than normal. Hybrid MPG seems better but I ran a lot of shorter trips back to back.
Turns out I couldn’t fit into my old winter clothes and had to go shopping.

It's been 20-30 here in Utah the last few weeks. The drop in efficiency is very noticeable, especially for short trips. Back of napkin guesstimate: easily 20% drop on those shorter trips (large majority of our driving).

my drive to work is about 15 min so that can explain the not warm enough

aslo the heater is off during the drive and is set to 75 hot or cold all the time when it happens to be on. I also don't use the remote start as well

It'll get considerably colder. I just got back from a ~25 mile bike ride; if you gear up properly, it's actually kind of enjoyable.

Climate control off, heated seats and steering wheel on (if so equipped) will help MPG A LOT if you can make it work.

Of course there are times you NEED defrost and defogging and won't have a choice.

Remember, for EV the temperature needle needs to be just off the C. 122°F to be exact. If I'm at a long stop and the engine temp cools while stationary, the engine kicks back on at 115°F.

No EV possible*

*No EV possible after engine initially starts. Can move a short distance cold in EV if battery charge allows.

Ah yes, 122 degrees????? Did any one else forget? Is this the guy with the scan tools and phone app to track hybrid numbers?
Sorry to not be following closely enough to every post on this forum.

Picked my truck up 10/1, first tank was 42+ mph, third tank was 39.4, overall is down to 39.9. I’m noticing a drop with colder weather

Cold weather climate can be easily overlooked MPG with the hybrid. This brings the eco engine pretty close for about 5 months of the year, If you want heat. I ran across this video and it puts winter hybrid driving into perspective.
He is getting horrible non-cold MPG to start with. If he is 90+% highway, Maybe an non-hybrid would have been a stronger choice.
But overall he is still getting better mpg then ecoboost.
