Was playing boy racer through the mountains on the Blueridge Parkway in my old Fiesta and lost the brakes. Luckily it was a manual so I downshifted and the brakes came back. Lesson learned.

May I ask how to do the engine brake properly ?Thanks
Nothing to worry about and don’t need to do anything differently. The Mav does everything for you. Once the battery is fully charged, it changes from regen to engine.

Wait a minute, a 🐻 bear tried getting in? Seems even bears want a new Maverick..
Well, now we know what a bear does in the woods…. Try to steal a Maverick!

Just FYI, there really isn’t such a thing as a “bear proof”Maverick (or any other car/truck). During one night in the Sequoia National Park, I saw a bear rip doors off an F-150, a Ram 1500, and a Chevy 2500. Don’t leave anything edible - not even a stick of gum - in your vehicle overnight in bear country!

This is the Access TonnoSport Soft Roll-Up. It was under $300, sits slightly lower profile than others, and works perfect. A little water will leak up at the front, but it dries/drains quickly. I drove through rain and nothing in the bed was wet.
You didn't have to remove tiedowns or buy anything extra to install this right? I've watched a couple install videos and I think it should work fine but this is my first truck so I want to be sure and I can't find any reviews from Maverick owners on sales sites.

Correct. I didn’t need to remove anything and all tie downs are still accessible.

These things exist for a very good reason! Use them or something similar unless you don't like your car.

Must be the time of year, but I'll add to the multiple Tennessee posts lately. We took the Mav for a road trip from IL to TN last week and it was a perfect all-in-one vehicle for the trip. Comfortable for 2 adults plus a baby. Great gas mileage and fit everything we could need.

I used two 1x3x 55" to make a shelf for 2 carry-ons and a tote.

The Apple Carplay worked perfect as long as I didn't stop and disconnect/reconnect in an area without cell signal.

The carbonized gray color hides dirt well.

Black bear tried opening the locked door, but didn't succeed and barely scratched.

Upper 30s mpg on the way down interstate through the rolling hills. Mid 40s mpg around town. Lower 30s mpg on the way back interstate through flat areas. The mpg picture is while going down the mountain. The battery gets to max charge quick then uses engine braking all the way down the mountain, which worked well and saved the brakes. The engine braking isn't loud at lower speeds, but can get loud at higher speeds. I'm at 11,000 miles and doing first oil change.

Great pics and great thread. I made that trip 3 months ago, but need to go back in my Maverick so that I can compare fuel mileage. I did not do quite as well as you, but after all, I was driving a motor home. I think I hit 9 mpg a time or two on the high side.

I drove down Black Mountain grade using high regen braking. It sounded nasty it was so loud. I wondered if I was damaging anything.
