LOL! There are a lot of 10" to 18" curbs in Fredericksburg, TX where I live. Had to "re-learn" how to park my full size truck like a small car all over again ;)
Well I am getting a Tremor and will eventually have a lift and 245/70 or 245/75s on it so that may clear the low curbs. Is Fredericksburg one of those Texas spots where the old folks are all heading? I know in St Petersburg Florida they have huge curbs and 4" tall road line reflectors to keep the old folks between the lines on their way to the early bird dinner!

Those old Germans designed the the "Original Town" sections so a full 8-Ox team wagon could pull a 180 degree turn in one move, so the streets are really wide. They also designed the streets to direct heavy rainfall into the creeks like channels. Unfortunately, I've seen people face plant pretty bad stepping off of some of those really high curbs thinking it was only about a 5 inch drop. Gotta know where you are ;) And yeah, it keeps the tourists on their toes and helps discourage all the jaywalkers ;)

I did a write up explaining springs vs. spacers. I'm happy to answer anything not covered in that post though.

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/spacer-lift-vs-spring-lift.2060/
My question is - the flatout kit has the shocks and some other pieces included. It seems like some of that stuff might be important so wondering what the difference would be between doing just a spring vs the full kit from flatout. One is cheaper but that usually is for a reason in my experience. I did do some research and some people said without adding a longer shock the stock shock bottoms out on big bumps. Just wondering if that is a side effect and what other issues there might be. I just want to do it correctly and I’m not so worried about cost although I don’t want to break the bank. :)

How were you able to find that? I searched and saw it in the search engine, but when I clicked on it, it said page not found.
Yea I must of found their new lowering springs a little early because theyve now been removed from the site. I even had them in my cart. I'm really hoping they get some Pro Lift HD springs with a similar rake. Shit be nice to see somebody come out with an actual sub frame drop and 3"+ full suspension lift but that may be years out.

It will just be for the AWD. We will look into a leveling solution, there might be something else in our portfolio that will work as a leveling front spring.

Not much you can do in the front to get more lift.

My question is, do you still have to grind the bottom of the strut tower like with the spacer lifts?
No, never heard of that for spacer lifts though. You are just replacing the OE springs.

With a spring you are raising the static position the front strut/rear shock sit at, however we do ensure that we don't go too high.

People say bottom out when they really mean top out. You increase the distance from OE static to lifted static by 2" you are increasing your bottoming resistance. However when you rebound from a bump you are now a bit closer to full extension. 99% of the time you would never notice it.

On a car based vehicle such as the maverick, you can't length the front strut by a significant amount as you are limited by the travel of the lower control arm which does not have a wide range of articulation. You are also limited by CV angle, lengthening the shock by a significant amount (>1") will definitely result in reduced lift of CV's, bushings, ball joints, etc. By the same reason, spacer lifts can pose this same issue.
