Fair Warning, some 22 Maverick's might be canceled.

There is no official word, yet, that Ford will be canceling some of the remaining 22 Maverick orders, but I thought that I would share that this week ford announced that they would be canceling some of the Escape and Transit Connect.

And today, 10/14, they announced the same for Escape.

Are there going to be more cancellations? I don't know. All I know is that this sucks.

- The only "remaining 22 orders" are those that have VIN#s and they will be made.
- There are no remaining 22 orders without VIN#s.
- All customers with "remaining 22 orders" without VIN#s were given an opportunity to convert their orders to 2023 orders with a Priority Code of 10. This window of opportunity has expired.
- The above orders for Transits and Escapes are being given a similar opportunity which is why the memo reads, "Dealers should ensure that all replacement orders..........verified in COVP"

Summary: The above memos have absolutely nothing to do with Mavericks and one has to wonder why it is posted to this forum.

The entire point of this post is to demonstrate that ford is capable of cancelling orders of vehicles that have been assigned vins, in contravention of precedent.

Personally I need something to bitch about while I wait. Long ago I finished planning all the mods and buying some parts and I don’t have one to be twitting or tubing about.

Well ladies and gents I'll tell you this. I just went through a category 4 hurricane. Lost my pool cage and fence and have roof damage. No telling when anything will get fixed. I ordered my Maverick the first day and got my confirmation email. If Ford cant or wont build it just tell me so I can cancel and move on. I don't need any more BS in my life right now. A Chevy Colorado is looking good right now. My best to all the storm victims in Florida.

They are cancelling scheduled orders. All TC orders that are scheduled have vins.

All TC require a vin to get scheduled. There is no doom or gloom in my comment, just facts, provided by a 3rd generation fmc employee.

Well said. There's more important things in life than a Maverick truck. Good thing I got one and another is in production. I'll give it to anyone who's willing to pay 10k above MSRP.

I don’t understand why some of you opted to not place a new order. That just makes no sense. And your options, should you get dumped, will not include a Maverick.

Because we are already 'scheduled'. And because we have been hearing for over a year, "if you have a VIN, you will get a MY '22 built."
"If you are scheduled,you will be built." Very clear messaging contradicting everything but today's news.
Every person who has has a VIN and a built date (before now DID get built).

But ford has shown time and time again that everything is subject to change. I see absolutely zero downside to placing a new order in case 22 gets nixed.
