Dealer requested signature today for rollover order to MY23

Long story short (don’t we all have long stories about ordering)

I ordered a 22 maverick on 1/26/22 and received confirmation email same day.

Reordered a 23 on 9/19/22 over the phone while on vacation. Asked dealer if signature was required at the time and was told told no. Dealer today resent the preview order form followed by a phone call to confirm options and requested it be signed and Emailed back. The sales code and order code are the same as the order placed in January.
Am I up the creek? This doesn’t sit right.

Personally, I would take that as a good sign. I would be more concerned wondering if the dealer really rolled it over if I had only done it on the phone with a preview order form. At least you heard something. Many do not hear anything for months!!!!!!!!!!!

Sales code is the dealer ID. Order code is set by the dealer. Former you'd expect to stay the same, latter is at dealer discretion. No worries there if you have the preview order page showing a submitted 2023 order with those codes.

I wouldn't be thrilled, but it seems legit. I think a manager probably asked your salesman to get it because that is how they normally are doing it . It seems like more of a dealer thing, than a Ford thing.

Call customer service with the codes and they can say if new order has been entered.

Sound ok to me. Re-using the order code is fine.
When you re-ordered, probably just saying they didn’t require a signature to place it. Now they are following up and protecting both parties. Good thing to do.

I assume they are asking for it to finsh the COVP on their end. That is a good sign
The deadline is closing for COVP submissions if I got that right.

Whew thanks for the positive replies.

I did see where fordvideoguy stated the covp deadline was extended to 10/13 so that would make sense
