Area 51 or Atlas Blue ?

Tint, tailgate lettering, and keeping it clean (or as clean as I can) is all I've done. Carb Grey with the FE accoutrements actually looks fantastic IMO. Black roof and mirror caps are subtle but a truly nice touch.

It’s alway cool when the right touches work.. tint is a must, and the carbon grey is the best grey for sure. I really did consider the Carbon.. a good wax and a ceramic coating is probably worth its weight in gold.

Best color is Velocity Blue on my 2022 Maverick but since that color is no longer available I chose Atlas Blue.

Yup, Area 51 I think.. lol. The Reliant was popular because they were considered motorbikes, and could be driven without a licens, “by drunks who lost their license”. Reverse was a plate in the floor that you lifted up and walked it back with your feet.

I had no idea about the reverse. Very interesting.

You will find that color on every Austin, Morris, Wolesley, Riley, Ford, etc.etc. Etc of its day.. Mav 51 was a British police car color for many a car in its day also.. ok, maybe a shade off, the cop car was a bit more minty.. lol.

Interesting. How popular was dark green on stuff in the 50's over there? Was British racing green used on non performance cars much? My Consul has no paint left at all, but there appears to be hints of dark green and a narrow double stripe of yellow offset across the top. I always figured somebody had repainted it at some point.

I do agree, all good colors. Velocity was a perfect color on a Mav, Atlas maybe more perfect..

Yes, British racing green started at Bentley I think, but ended up on everything…. But it did default to the higher end vehicles. My Rover(Honda)200 wagon looked awesome in BRG..
most of the colors of vehicles in the 50s were I direct result of the Second World War, what paints and ingredients were available.
yellow stripes on some cars were normally Lotus tuned models, but definitely not on the Consul, so almost definitely an add on.

I had intended to order a MY2022 in Velocity Blue and waited to long. I was very disappointed to learn that it had been discontinued for 2023, that is until I was at my local Ford store for an oil change and spied an F-150 in Atlas Blue Metallic. Although I don't have a Maverick yet, the Atlas Blue Metallic almost made me glad I missed the MY2022. To be honest, the Velocity and Atlas blues aren't that far apart, but I think the Atlas Blue is a little darker and just a better color overall. The metallic flecks really help it stand out.
