Today I was at the gas station filling up and when I opened the door to get back in the truck a message popped up on the dash saying "parking brake fault, service now". I turned the truck on and the parking brake disengaged no problem and I was able to drive it home with no issues. Has anyone seen this issue yet? I'm also not getting any vehicle alerts in the Ford Pass app for it.

Hey there! I can look into your Maverick's message concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info?

Mine actually did this today after a downpour while it was parked. I walked up unlocked and opened the drivers door and popped up on the screen tried parking break when I got to destination and it worked correctly and no alert shows on fordpass.

Mine said failed it happened after the computer was updated due to the software recall.

Mine disengaged in on a hill and it bounced around I had to hit the brakes. The dealer simply said unable to replicate.

Had an issuse with blinking dash lights unable to replicate. Had a problem with popping noise in speakers unable to replicate. Had issuse with awd fault reduced power unable to replicate. When it rains there is always funky electrical problems. Water is getting in somewhere or loose wires or simply wires that are damaged on install somewhere.

The failed brake and awd popped up on ford pass for me

Yep, pretty much exact same scenario except I was in my driveway getting ready for work when it happened. It happened only once, never caused any issue that I'm aware of and never registered on the Ford Pass app.

My XL has done the same , 3 different times now. No issues with FordPass app, no issues with the truck???? Weird though. I thought maybe I'm rock the truck forward while getting in or out and it sets this off ??? Just a theory.

Mine has said the same thing several times but my parking brake seems to be engaging/disengaging fine.

I actually think it might be related to the brake hold feature. I turned that feature off for a few weeks and did not experience the problem during that time.

I have now turned brake hold back on because it helps prevent the engine from starting prematurely if you let off the brake too much when auto stop-start is engaged. I'll see if the problem happens again.

I've had the same warning when opening the door. However, I wasn't using the parking brake.

Were you using the brake hold - the button on the center console area that keeps you stopped at a light if you take your foot off the brake?

Admittedly, I have not confirmed that that feature works with the assistance of the parking brake but I suspect that it does.

Auto Hold will automatically switch over to the parking brakes if the service brakes are not able to keep the vehicle stopped.

This is one thing I really hate this electric parking brake. I use mine a lot on my current car and much prefer simple handle with cable. Simple works. Lasts the life of car. I know of others with a electric parking brake they all fail eventually.
