Final drive ratio is the same for FX4 or non FX4 equiped 2.0L ecoboost engines. That covers all your drive modes so no since the gear ratios are the same.If this is a silly question I am sorry. I am not a mechanic or engineer. I can watch a few YouTube videos and basically become an expert though. I want to add the sport mode and eco mode to my FX4. could the programing for those two drive modes possibly not be optimized for the different gear ratio of the FX4. Could those setting possibly cause problems long term (like sand mode on dry pavement). Maybe that is why they are not included with the FX4. Again I don't know what all the drive modes change in the engine and what different gearing would do. Just a thought that maybe someone who knows might be able to explain.
The final drive ratio that is quoted is controlled by the transmission not the rear end. Underneath the torque convertor in the transmission housing is drive and driven gear. One gear spins the torque convertor and the other gear is spun by the internals in the transmission. They are connected by a chain. The amount of teeth on each gear and length of the chain determine the final drive ratio.
