The extra money also gets you new shorter struts/shocks with 24 levels of dampening adjustment. Stock shocks on drop coils will nolonger be in their sweet spot. Plus the ability to adjust the height to your liking and tire preferences.I caught a Mav in a parking lot today and measured. It's six inches to the bottom of the mud flap, meaning the Scale "low" kit is only 1/2" lower than most lowering coils.
While I prefer to be as statically low as is reasonable I don't know if I can justify an additional $1000 for a 1/2".
All good points! $1000 worth of justification? Not sure. The extra money also gets you new shorter struts/shocks with 24 levels of dampening adjustment. Stock shocks on drop coils will nolonger be in their sweet spot. Plus the ability to adjust the hight to your liking and tire preferences.
Truthfully speaking... at least from my point of view, $1000 is a drop in the bucket... especially for not only quality parts but the overall enjoyment of each and everything we each do to our trucks/cars. I don't dare look but I guesstimate I've already spent about $7-$8K in upgrades etc on my Maverick. Lol I bought 2 sets of coilovers after buying and installing the H&R coil springs. I'm not trying to be "that guy" but I firmly believe in quality of life...joy of life...and allowing that inner child to live out loud with what speaks the most to me. Money is easy to make.... missed opportunities to be happy and excited about doing these types of upgrades...well once time passes it's gone. It's much more that $1000.... yet I digress.. but suggest to not let it be a BIG sticking choice. And, lol, please don't go cutting coils. Alot of us have done this in the past but nah.All good points! $1000 worth of justification? Not sure.
Yeah, I'm not cutting coils. Have done that in the past!
Did your fronts come already preloaded? Mine have a sticker on them that sayFront is all the way down, rear could go down another inch I think
Mine did not have that stickerDid your fronts come already preloaded? Mine have a sticker on them that say
"Shock factory preloaded"
I am assuming this means the 5 or 10mm preload is already set? I ask because box didn't say length of the springs or I'd be able to just measure.

Interesting. Were the springs loosely installed?Mine did not have that sticker
We preloaded unscientifically
The fronts weren’t loose, but they for sure weren’t tightInteresting. We're the springs loosely installed?
Thanks. Mine are definitely tight in there. I emailed them just now to be 100% sure. I will only have time to install these once...lol gotta make sure I'm right on.The fronts weren’t loose, but they for sure weren’t tight

So what happened with the Escape coilovers? Thanks. Mine are definitely tight in there. I emailed them just now to be 100% sure. I will only have time to install these once...lol gotta make sure I'm right on.
They fit as I thought they would. Bolted right up. As expected however, the rear springs are a lil different and fit exactly like the H&R springs so anyone installing them will have to either slightly modify the right rear spring perch or order one meant for the Escape in order for the spring to fit correctly. Since they weren't the "LOW Version" I elected to install the Scales. I may sell them or... go buy an Escape and install them. LolSo what happened with the Escape coilovers?
I decided to go with an air setup from Iceboxx Customs. I ended up wanting on demand adjustment. Otherwise I was going to get these with custom color springs. I learned long ago that if I constantly worry about the cost when building any car the way I want it, it ultimately won't be what I want.Truthfully speaking... at least from my point of view, $1000 is a drop in the bucket... especially for not only quality parts but the overall enjoyment of each and everything we each do to our trucks/cars.
