Was searching on Amazon and stumbled across:

Klutchtech Hood Struts Maverick Hood Shock No Drill Hood Lift Supports Compatible with Ford Maverick Accessories 2022+ for $50.39 with coupon:

https://amzn.to/3RzGvwI

Look identical to the MRT ones but almost 1/3 the price with coupon. My concern is reading the threads where hood wouldn't release issues with MRT, but I think that was just mismatched batch and issue corrected. Wife just ordered MRT for me - 🤔

Anyhow, anyone purchase these yet? Used search and didn't find any existing threads.

I may give them a go. Not high on my "mods priority" list but nice to have the link. Thanks!

Bought it, though my Maverick is (supposedly) built and still at the factory for the past month. Maybe I’ll get to intall it someday. 🤣

Well guess I will be installing the MRT struts the wife bought. She got them with a coupon code so with their 20% restocking fee and return shipping, won't be saving much. Wish I would have found them a couple of weeks ago 🤷‍♂️ 😥

After 10 months of Mav ownership(26,000KM)i think ive opened the hood maybe 5 OR 6 times to check and top up windshield washer fluid and pull the dipstick while im at it, I have most other popular mods but never felt the need for hood struts. Just saying. But the tailgate dampener now thats the #1 mod in my book, i use that everyday.

I get it, not a necessary mod for some people - I open my hood/doors/tailgate every weekend while washing the truck. Drying the water and cleaning the bottom of the windshield, etc. I was looking for these since I loved the deezee tailgate dampener. Not that it is that big of a deal to use the prop rod, but I think a nice addition. Wife ordered the MRT ones, I got a week ago and which I am installing this afternoon. I ran across these doing my weekly Amazon search and they looked identical to the ones I bought for considerably less. Just curious if they are the same or a cheap knockoff.

My last vehicle had a hood strut, and I miss it so much. It's a little thing, but it really does make checking your fluids and engine bay so much nicer. I find the prop rod on the Maverick to be a little on the short side, I'm 6'1 so no giant, and I'm alway's having to make sure I don't run my head against the hood if I'm poking around.

Having said that, I wouldn't pay $100-150 for hood struts, that's just insane. $50 for the set wouldn't be too bad, but it's definitely a want and not a need.

The hood on the mav weighs about the same as 4 soggy loose-leaf pieces of paper. Is this really a helpful mod?

Helpful perhaps not, useful, I would argue yes ;) - but neither was the homelink mirror I installed. I could have kept using my garage door opener, but I will never go back🤣
