Maybe give the Maverick another try at some point, and come back here. Our Maverick hybrid is not quite 6 months old yet, and has over 7000 miles on it, without any troubles, except a rock that resulted in a windshield crack. We absolutely love ours.

What vehicle did you get instead?

A 2021 Forrester Limited with 9,800 miles. Not as good gas milage (30mpg combined) and no bed, but more plush and lots of bells and whistles.

Sounds like you did get a lemon , it can probably be sorted but when buying new you shouldn't have to endure more than minor aggravation. Sorry for your troubles ,time and expense. I agree the MTC has been a gift of knowledge and humor.

Sorry for your ordeal. In your position I probably would have done the same thing. I hope I have better luck with my hybrid I've had only 5 weeks. It's a positive to hear Ford and your dealer treated you well.

Nice! We are a Subaru family, and I have seriously considered going that route if this ordering process continues to be crazy and or it takes a year+ to get a Mav.

Sorry for your pain. Your choice to move on is completely rational. Trust is gained with difficulty, and easily lost. Ford lost your trust by delivering an inferior product to your driveway. As the Ford CEO and CFO both said just a few months ago, Ford has real work to do to get their quality control (or lack thereof) fixed and reduce their $1,000 per vehicle warranty costs.

Sorry to hear, its too bad you got a lemon. While I wait for mine to be built I wonder if I will have troubles or be trouble free. The last Ford I purchased was a 1990 Taurus and it was very good but since then I have had nothing but Hondas and have had not had a bad one. Good luck to you and thanks for contributing to MTC.

I think my citrus on wheels was likely an exception. I certainly hope Ford has been listening. If not... a lot of trust will be lost! I hope it gets here soon...safe travels!

Just kidding with the .gif. Sorry to hear you had so many problems. This is the sort of thing that made me shy away from a hybrid. Hopefully they will figure it out and the mav hybrid will turn out to be a good vehicle for most people.

Certainly understand your position. What did you select as a replacement?

A 2021 Forrester Limited. Only 30 mpg combined and no mini bed... but all the bells and whistles... Ill just continue borrowing when I NEED a truck!
