Well, been a while since I’ve owned a Big 3 vehicle. My XL, AWD Maverick has been built and should be in my garage 2 weeks from now. Been following the Maverick forum for quite some time and am very happy with my selection. I think Ford has real winner here. Can’t wait to dress it up with accessories.

Also from South Carolina. Looking to order August 2nd if my wife hasn’t gone into labor yet. If you don’t mind, from which dealer did you order? Was considering Summerville Ford since it isn’t too far from me. Please advise

I am new too. I live in Hanahan, so I am also not too far from Summerville, SC. My 2000 Dodge Dakota lacks just about everything I would be able to get with a new Ford Maverick. Willing to put up with it until I receive a new truck. Wife won't ride in my old truck anymore. She is afraid it will break down. So I think the time is right to go for it. I hope that I can get a lot of good options; although, I don't need to max out a bare bones model is not for me. Any advice is appreciated. I don't need to tow anything and at my age I don't need a sound system for my near deaf ears that would blow away drivers in adjacent lanes. I suppose price will be higher than expected but I just want a smart purchase to have my last vehicle before they take away my right to drive in ten years or so (if I live that long!). Did everyone get to see and test drive a truck or are all the orders essentially blind?

I only saw pictures of the Ford Maverick, let alone drive it. Anyway, received mine yesterday, a white, Maverick XL, AWD, 2.0 ECO. I put a few miles on it yesterday and today and am loving it. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles my RAV4, XLE has but, it has more power and a more comfy ride than the Tacos I’ve owned. Hopefully simplicity translates to better reliability.

i got to sit in one on base…Area 51 FE all decked out. Plenty of space for everything I want and need to include a rear facing car seat.

Another South Carolinian here ( Columbia ) who just joined. Planning on ordering an XL hybrid in September. Being a USC fan I can't deal with all the Clemson orange in the XLT.

Got 355 miles on the Maverick and everything is working fine. Filled her up with 93 octane at Costco and calculated 29.2 mpg vs 28.3 mpg on the dash. Been driving in town mostly with one 40 mile highway trip. Very happy with mpg and expect 32-35 mpg on the highway. At 3000 miles I’ll be switching over to Pennzoil Platinum synthetic oil and every 5000 miles thereafter.

Retired last May and moved to Greer, SC from northern Michigan last summer. My Lariat hybrid is supposed to be built the week of 8/29, been bumped back one week from original build date of 8/22. I'm hoping to have it by early Oct? Ford customer service rep said maybe as early as 9-15?? City of Greer has a white one driving around town, sure looks sharp!

It’ll be worth the wait. I got mine about 3 weeks after the build date. I wanted AWD with the IRS so I got the 2.0 turbo by default. My other vehicle is a Corolla hybrid that averages 55 mpg, so I tend to use that more often than the Maverick.

My older brother, back in the day, bought new a 1971 Ford Maverick Grabber with the 302 V8 in it. Sharp looking car with the hood scoops, decals and nice wheels. Haven't seen one on the road in many years. Wonder if there is a 'Maverick Car Club' ?????
