Maybe someone on here can help. With the deadline of "by July 8." I have reached out to my dealer three times (twice by email once by phone) To talk through removing the two constraints I have (SIBL and tonneau hard cover). They have all but ghosted me....What can I do? Maybe just show up at the dealership? I cant believe my dealer is leaving me hanging.... :p

See the dealer. Sales manager if need be. If he/she tells you that they cannot change your order because Ford has it a Priority 02 status, that is not true. They can ask Ford regional rep to change it back to priority 10 and then they can make the changes. After making the changes, they can request regional rep to change it back to priority 02.

This are apparently very real constraints. Dropping them is exactly what Ford is asking to you do to get the MY22. Dealer SHOULD be cooperative

Yes, go to the dealer or call and ask for a manager. Tell them you will wait on hold until you can talk to your salesperson or manager.

The dealer can change to 10 themselves (I did this on my own order). They would need a rep to move back to 02 though.

I had mine done in person at my dealer. He had to 1st get the regional rep to unlock my account that was at Priority 2. Removed 4 items and set my Priority to 10. I asked about getting it set back to 2 and he said it didn't matter as I was next in line for allocation at their dealership with oldest order date and 2 after me were still set at Priority 19 and would not be changed.

What level rep would the dealership have to engage to get moved back to a 2? Additionally, if they didn't explicitly request this happening, would the order just stay forever at 10 (or whatever they'd changed it to)?

Probably their sales "zone" rep.

Not forever, I honestly don't know who does it (it may be automatic?), but orders are moved to 02 when they are being prioritized for scheduling. This is not necessary to be scheduled, but is helpful.

Understood, thanks. The scenario we have at one of the large volume dealers seems to have been:
1. Initially all orders were marked at Priority 10
2. Along the way, some orders got scheduled, and others got moved to Priority 2 but stayed that way awhile (so far, this sounds like everybody else)
3. As scheduling numbers dropped dramatically, the dealer went through and re-prioritized all unscheduled orders by order date (Priority 13 for Jun, 14 for July, 15 for Aug, etc.). Some people who were previously at 2 were now a 13.
4. Fast forward to today, none of the orders ever got "re-elevated" to 2 by the region, so even the outstanding June order is still a 13.

Speculating on whether the Ford regional process doesn't pick them up again if they got pulled out of 2 by the dealer...

That is something I don't know, but it sounds plausible! I work for a small rural dealer. It makes sense that they may have reprioritized orders... but constraints will have a bigger impact that priority code.

I was at 02 for months myself before I was scheduled. Staying at 02 for a while is common. I was a June 9th order. I was moved to 02 in the fall, but had a tonneau cover which prevented scheduling. I moved my own order from 02 to 10 and made changes. I did not ask anyone to reprioritize my order (I probably would have gotten it quicker than mid-May if I had...but I felt funny asking for myself). after maybe two months back at 10, I was moved to 02. Another month or two after that I was scheduled.

They started giving greater weight to order age (after mine was scheduled). My assumption now is that orders are moved to 02 when they are in an age group that should be scheduling. Obviously, constraints may mean that older orders are skipped over to build younger buildable orders.

So in my case, I was eventually moved back to 02 automatically by whomever/whatever does that. I made changes in Sept. I think I was moved back to 02 in early December, and scheduled in late January.
Not sure if that helps much, but that is how it worked out for me!

Thanks very much for the detailed reply. I'd heard many stories of orders sitting in Priority 2 for a long time and remaining unscheduled, totally get that if constraints are the issue.

Our collective MTC group just can't figure out (even though all the orders do indeed seem heavily constrained) why the region would not have (at least) the June/July orders back at Priority 2 at this point. Sure, pass them over if the parts aren't available, it just seems odd that those really old ones aren't likely even being considered anymore because they aren't at 2.

I have a January 19th order for a bare bones XLT EB. Only a spare tire and trailer hitch on the build, no packages. I'm a little confused on what I need to do since nothing on my build is "constrained".
Do I need to call my dealer to move to a 23'? If so, will I lose my place in line?
