Dealers not responding to purchase truck. Why?

Went to 3 different dealers on line. So as i opened their website on line, chat window opened
and rep said how can help you.
Said I wanted to find a dealer to purchase the 23 maverick from since august 15 opening date
Said " want to know if the dealer is going to honor the msrp price? Also, is there a waiting list
at your dealer that buyer can get on prior to opening date.
STILL--no response from any of the 3 dealers in my area. Why?

Simple, the order banks aren't opened up yet, and the fact they won't sell a Maverick at MSRP, so they don't want to waste their time.

Go down to a dealer and don't be suck a hardass. Remember you get more with sugar than vinegar.

Um they way a more then few people have made it sound is that their are multiple dealerships across the US taking name and deposits to get on a reservation list to have a truck ordered when the bank opens again..

There are. But it has nothing to do with Ford. The dealer knows a potential customer can go to any dealer to order. So they don't want to let you get away. Once they have your deposit in hand you are much less likely to go elsewhere. But I doubt putting down a deposit and getting on some 'list' will be any different than standing in front of the dealer on August 2nd.

That said, I have already turned in a tentative MY23 order at my dealer to get on that list. No deposit though they did ask for one. Will it do any good? No idea and I plan on being at the dealer on August 2nd anyway. Might bring my salesman coffee and donuts and watch while he enters my order.

You read what some others wrote about them securing themselves on a list. They must have asked that question also to a dealer concerning an early list. You don't know if there is a list someone can be put on. You are a very rude person, that tries

to make others feel bad. You did that to me. But i will get over it. If you are an older man you should have learned not to talk to younger people this way. Don't say anything to people unless you have something good to say. Thats what my dad said

My dad gave good advice if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. Long McGarthur Ford, saleperson who is reputable said they put people on a list, and he has 70 people on a list for fords. Also i saw people who bought their trucks on this forum for msrp. So you don't no what your talking about. You must be a drunk that goes on line calling people names. Stay out of my business.

trying not to be rude here, but most experienced sales people can quickly figure out who is serious about actually buying from them. Using only generic chat instead of calling or visiting in person would be a tip off you are simply shopping around for best deal, but not willing to put any effort into establishing a relationship with a dealership to actually place your order. Mavericks don't have a ton of profit in them so that is additional motivation to ignore people fishing for deals remotely.

1) Never trust the dealership, dealers always have lists, that is how they make money.
2) When I got my Maverick, I paid MSRP and no add-ons, but the same dealer now has a 5K mark up and $1800 worth of add-ons.
3) Your best bet is to take this weekend and READ this form, lots of good information here.
4) Sorry you don't like the information given to you, but many of us have been successful in getting our mavericks.

Why would you assume that I am going to act like a "hard...." ?? Sugar is nice. I just told the forum 2 things. I would like to get msrp, because I wanted to narrow the dealers down. Just like some did in 2022 orders. And they got it. It says on the forum in the posts.
