(1) Look for a listing with a real world picture (hint: you see weeds in the background). Everything else is generally a customer order. (2) Look for anything $10,000 over MSRP.

Those are usually real vehicles sitting on the dealer lot. The idealized photos are all customer orders and already sold.
Yep, that's what I've been getting from every dealership I've called so far. That they're already spoken for that is.

Got call from my dealer last Wednesday, had a cancelled Eco Lariat loaded. Went and saw Saturday. Sticker 34k ADM 8.5K Add-ons 2.5k. Was sold that afternoon. Think dealer is good, have verified 2 others paid agreed price on ordered Maverick. Don't fault dealer at all for selling stock at market rate. Will order Hybrid in August.

please try to actually sit in and/or drive one if you have opportunity
My wife and I got the opportunity to sit in one last week.

Stopped at the dealer and asked if he had any Mavericks. Nope he replied. I noted that I just wanted to see one and would probably order a MY23. He sighed and admitted they did have one but I could not take it for a drive. He agreed to let me sit in it and check the size and feel. After a long golf cart ride we arrived and got our test 'sit' :) He told us it was a customer order and the only reason it was there was that someone cut off the catalytic converter while it was on the car carrier. They have been waiting 3 months for the part.

I know people have been waiting a long time but I can't imagine how frustrated that owner is having it finally delivered but DOA because someone stole the converter.

I feel like I know the answer in my heart, but I'm gonna ask it anyway.

Are there literally any Mavericks (new and/or slightly used) that are available on lots that aren't already reserved or ordered and waiting to be picked up?

I'm looking for a new vehicle, and the Maverick is ticking all the boxes for me. Looking on Autotrader, almost every listing for a Maverick within 300 miles of me is either already listed as reserved, sale pending, or "not in stock, either on order or in transit". I've seen a few that say in stock, but they usually have just a stock photo of a Maverick, so I wonder if it's too good to be true.

Are dealerships posting vehicles online that are already spoken for to generate interest in hopes that if the original buyer backs out, they've already got people ready to buy it?

Thanks.
Hi, I was at my dealership today and my salesman was trying to tempt me with a hybrid that was odered, but not taken. XLT, hybrid, co pilot 360. this was at 3pm Pacific time. They are asking 8,000 over MSRP......Fairview Ford in San Bernardino........Ask for Christian......I know you probably are not that desperate, but someone may be.

My wife was waiting for a hybrid Escape when the sales guy called just before closing and said they just got a hybrid Lariat Maverick. We rocketed to the store where they said if we don't have deposit they have 5 buyers waiting. I asked if the deposit was refundable and handed them my CC. Closed the deal the next day. I felt the ability to avoid a years wait was worth the 5K mark-up.

You just need to canvas autotrader. I spent almost two weeks contacting dealerships nationwide back in February for a hybrid. Finally one had a deal fall through and I snagged it. It was sparse back then. Big time mark up might be practically unavoidable these days

Thanks for the info, but I'm all the way on the other side of the country lol.

I'm also not in a position to pay 8k over MSRP either. Absolutely blowing my mind.

I'm thinking my best bet is canvassing Autotrader and calling every Ford dealership within a like 200-300 mile radius and being asked to be added to a call list for Mavericks that have their orders fall through. About the only plan I've got at the moment. Which sucks. I don't mind spending a few hours one day calling multiple dealerships if it nets me a Maverick, but I also don't wanna wait months just for the first call to be a Maverick marked up way over MSRP.

Yeah it does not seem fair that some people are already driving a Maverick but you can't get a hold of one. It helps me to watch videos on YouTube like this guy who has 2.

Go to the Member Marketplace under Forum (scroll down till you see Market). Look for Mavericks For Sale. See if there is any there.
Thanks for the tip. Checked there earlier and didn't see anything.

Yeah, I figured that. You never know how bad someone might want it. I live here and I wouldn't pay it. I see them advertised out here for 42 grand. Good luck in your search, you really will need it.

Check with Mullinax. They usually have one or two on the lot regularly. They have three on their site now coming in that might be available actually. They charge $3000 over MSRP, but no dealer fees.

Funny, twice I have been contacted by dealers offering me one since I took delivery of mine. Titus Will just this past weekend. Of course that is already sold and no idea what ADM it had, but I assume it was sizeable.

I just want to meet one person who actually paid those prices and just figure that line of thought. Super interesting.
