Thank you for this great work! I'm looking forward to getting this done soon. All of the parts are ordered and on their way.

Is there any way you could provide more info for creating the harness? In the pinout diagram where you say "add to gray ACM connecter", it doesn't specify where on that connector to add the wire. Also, are you soldering all the wires and using shrink tubing for each wire?

Any additional information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!
So ACM connector 2 is the grey ACM connector (That you will receive as the ANC bypass harness). The pinouts in post #2 will show you where everything will go (look for the green color coding for ACM 2).

Also to update everyone...

Looks like Forscan got an official update that now supports Sync 4 in the Maverick! You should be able to download it directly from the site to support programming of a Sync 4 swap.

Good morning! I got all my parts in and I had a few quick questions. Please pardon my stupidity lol.
Am I correct to assume that when making this harness, I’m not removing or adding any wires from any of these connectors? Im just tapping into the wires I need to tap into?
What was your method for tapping into the wires? Solder? A certain wire tap?
Am I cutting of the other receiving end of the gray ACM ANC delete harness?
Do I cut off all the other wires I don’t need?
So ACM connector 2 is the grey ACM connector (That you will receive as the ANC bypass harness). The pinouts in post #2 will show you where everything will go (look for the green color coding for ACM 2).

So you will be cutting and removing a few pins. The grey connector harness will be cut and all wires removed except for the 8 that are required. There will also be a few pins to remove from the black T harness. Again take a look at the wiring diagrams and pinouts for more info. I cut, stripped, and soldered all wire connections.

Thank you for the response.
On the wiring diagram, when you say “remove from ACM and route to APIM”, am I removing the wire from the male end or female end of the harness? Also when you say “add to black ACM connector”, do you add it to the male or female end of the harness?

Male ends go to the ACM while female ends go to the harness. So remove from ACM would be removing from the male connector and adding to ACM would be adding to male connector.

Male ends go to the ACM while female ends go to the harness. So remove from ACM would be removing from the male connector and adding to ACM would be adding to male connector.
So
After 2 days of wiring, I finished the harness and today I got everything in the Maverick. So far there haven’t been any explosions. I programmed all the as built data and it all seems to be working except a couple things. SirusXm is giving me an “antenna problem”. I can hear music when xm is selected but unable to change channels or do anything with it. Made sure the antenna was plugged in and on top of the truck as well. Also I’m getting a ton of DTC’s. Going to try tomorrow to clear them and see if they come back and I’ll report back.

Nice! The antenna issue could be caused by the antenna itself or a loose connection.

You will have a few DTCs if you didn’t clear anything after you completed the programming. If any come back there likely will need to be small tweaks to the code based off of your vehicle options.

Still having issues trying to get sync 4 the way it should be in my hybrid mav. I think I’m going to try it out with sync 3. Do you have a pin to pin chart for wiring a sync 3 harness with the 4 extra wires for the gateway module?

What issues are you still having with sync 4?

Blue highlights on the connector diagrams are for sync 3. You will be tapping into the OBD port for those connections.

Wireless CarPlay works but only until you shut the vehicle off. Upon restart, I have to re-pair my phone to Bluetooth every time to get it to come on again. Also I was hoping to have the hybrid screens that are on my wife’s escape PHEV sync. 3 system. I also can’t figure out the xm antenna problem. If it’s a programming issue I think I would have more success with sync 3 because there’s as built data available for my hybrid mav with sync 3.

The wireless CarPlay issue can be solved through a master reset of the sync system. I had that issue happen and a master reset solved it. It might also solve the XM issues.

We can likely get the hybrid screens to show but I do not know if they will function.

Do you know of any easier accessible areas where I can tap into those OBD can bus wires besides right at the OBD connector? Looking for a wiring diagram but coming up short. Wondering if you knew of any other places to grab those wires that you’ve found.
Thank you!

The OBD port is the easiest and closest from what I found. The diagram post has the connector pinouts for the OBD connector plug. There are pass though harnesses out there like for the radio that can be used so you don’t have to tap into the existing harness.

I have an OBD2 pass through harness. I just need the corresponding pin outs for the male side of the plug. It’s the 16 pin plug that I can’t find a diagram for and how it corresponds to the back of the OBD2.
