That's odd, I have no difference in signal quality on my HD radio or Sirius. Did you buy the official Stubby Jr. from cravenspeed, or one off Amazon?
Amazon. It's sold directly by the company, so it's not a knockoff.

Sirius is a separate antenna, I believe.

Not being a smartass but why? Thanks
The tailgate drops fast without it. The assist makes it so you don’t have to ease the tailgate down yourself.

I installed the stubby jr. antenna, purely for aesthetics, as others have done. Can't comment on functionality since I use Sirius/XM 99% of the time, or stream through CarPlay. For like $20, I felt it was an ok add-on. I didn't hate the stock antenna though, and it is certainly better than the meter-long atrocity they stuck on the Lightning!

"What you talkin' about Willis?" A couple good'ol whip antennae sure help out in remote areas. You just bend them down toward the front and clip them in around town ;)

Dang it. Wish I knew about this before I got mine since I wasn’t in a hurry either. I paid 20 bucks more for it directly from Dee Zee.
Same. It will be sitting in the same spot for the next couple months.

this 1.2" Stubby, shortest I could find on Amazon, looks like it's a hair's width shorter than the sharkfin

BTW, don't ever buy one of them carbon fiber sleeved stubby antennas -- carbon fiber blocks radio signals.. I've been building flying carbon fiber RC multiroters for many years, and the rule-of-thumb when building those is to get the antenna elements as far away from the carbon fiber as physically possible to minimize the chances of that carbon fiber blocking the radio waves you depend on to maintain control of them open bladed flying lawnmowers.. ;)

No stubby antenna for me.

I did add these accessories for my hybrid XLT with lux pkg:

Raised 3D tailgate lettering
Tailgate assist
Cab spoiler
Hood protector
Rubber floor mats from WalMart
Sill protectors
Hard top tri-fold tonneau cover

I’d like to add “Maverick” for my door panels. There’s a few graphic print shops that can make anything you want. Since my truck is Velocity Blue, and my tailgate letters are Stars and Stripes, that’s how I imagined the lettering to be.

Ford factory antenna provides reception for GPS so screen can display compass direction, and cell phone reception for Ford Pass. A replacement stubby antenna from Amazon would not receive these bands and so you would lose these functions. Besides, you have to remove the headliner to replace the antenna.

I got the Stubby Jr. direct from Cravenspeed, look way better to me. Seems to work the same on both AM/FM as the stock one, in my area at least. But I stream with CarPlay most of the time.

I think it just screws on and off.

Have to remove the headliner to get at that screw.
You’re definitely doing it the hard way. It just screws off.
