Ya know...I think the title is misleading... Your Maverick wasn't hit... You hit someone with your Maverick. Whose fault it was🤷‍♂️ I'm not able to say, but that Maverick hit the Jeep ... It wasn't hit
I have watched the video 3 times, and it's hard to say how fast the Maverick was driving, but the Jeep looks at fault it appears the Jeep was making a U-turn where they shouldn't have been.

Same point of view... same reason. On a motorcycle, acting like you did will get you dead and fast. You 100% caused this by refusing to slow when you had plenty of time to do so. Yes their actions also caused this, but if BOTH of you weren't driving like aholes, this is at worst a five second delay.

Any driver in the Jeeps position not making this uturn attempt would swing to the left when they noticed you ramming up their ass and not even changing lanes until you were right up on them. Frankly if that u turn wasn't there and your camera didn't catch them coming to a complete stop... and let's say they were a new manual driver who was struggling to get into second gear after turning onto the road and just couldn't reach speed rapidly... This accident still happens, their behavior is virtually identical and you still cause this crash. Ironically, you're very fortunate they happened to be doing something illegal that the cops were frustrated by people doing in the past, because this could EASILY have been ruled to be both or just your fault.

I actually almost died in exactly this scenario but I was the vehicle in the front, on my bike (and mirrored lanes, I turned left onto the road) on a 45 mph leading up to a bridge and a viper doing well over 100 in your position went off the road to avoid killing me after they came up on me and refused to slow then swung to the right lane simultaneously with me moving over to it because they were accelerating into the back of me.
If the Jeep was making a U turn at a place where you are not allowed, it would be the jeep fault. I'm betting the Jeep never really looked when they pulled out.

I wasn't trying to argue fault... Just an apparent title problem.

One item in the video not mentioned is the Jeep was entering on to a hwy from another public street and the "NO UTurn Sign" was not visible to her, it was 50-100 yards back down the hwy from where the accident occurred, and her defense could be not seeing the No-UTurn sign but the yellow posts indicated no left u-turn's.

My view is the Jeep no doubt caused the accident but in GA it is the responsibility of the other (OP driver-Maverick) to maintain speed and be able to stop, and I assure anyone, in GA, rear end collisions by majority are the fault of the party rear ending/hitting the stopped or stalled vehicle, especially if the OP was speeding, and even admitted it....even thou it may not be fair. You can't erase "video's" from the internet, I've already sent the video to one of my motorcycle buddies...so it's on whe wwweb.

EVERYONE HERE KNOWS THE JEEP DRIVER IS DOING SOMETHING THEY SHOULDN'T, AND IS "AT FAULT"

The question some are asking, though, is that since you can't control the actions of others, but can of yourself - could/should the Mav driver have handled the situation better?

I personally would say that being defensive and slowing down if you see a potential problem ahead will rarely make things worse...

Hindsight is always 20/20 isn’t it?

Sorry about the truck. Glad nobody was hurt.

What’s foresight? Aka paying attention, anticipating? Respecting that the Jeep pulled out into both lanes, thus you have nowhere to pass or go around since they’ve claimed both lanes, thus maintaining your 3 second following distance in both lanes, waiting for the Jeep to pick one lane and stay in it before passing at a relatively low speed difference?

Jeep was in both lanes, OP could not use either to pass, OP knew Jeep was liable to attempt a u-turn, OP did not approach with any caution.

No need for hindsight as defensive drivers who routinely habitually watch for things like what the Jeep did, anticipate, approach with caution, avoid collisions.

OP absolutely deserved to lose his truck - my wife fully agrees.

You forgot the cardinal rule of driving: you can never predict what the other guy will do - if you keep that in mind he will never surprise you.

See - every time I get in my car I assume everyone is going to try and hit me. Everyone will run a red light. Everyone will back out of their parking space without looking. Every kid will dart out from behind a bush. Everyone will rear end me. The guy behind me doesnt see the traffic coming to a stop.

Can you avoid everything? Absolutely not - but the stuff you can avoid, and you choose not to - thats on you pedro.

Might be time to roll that slow paco. Hopefully no one got hurt, and that you've got insurance and shit.

Edit: read a few posts above me. apparently some of ya'll snackas is missing the point.

<the point> If you could avoid it, and you chose not to, thats on you. "how dare he do something he shouldnt do in front of me ra ra ra". </ the point>

i mean - he could be at fault - he could get ticketed - but you've got the wrecked truck and the blemished cartfax.

i would never post the video thinking i was somehow wronged - id be too ashamed to do so.

love you bud - its better to win than be right.

100% avoidable accident. Yes the Jeep driver attempted to perform an illegal maneuver but the Mav driver had plenty of time to avoid that collision. Defensive driving saves headaches and sometimes lives.

If youtube dashcam compilations have taught me anything, its that 99% of the time vehicles collisions are a "It takes 2 to tango" situation. Usually one person screwing up, and another not paying enough attention (Or alternatively, those weirdos who'd rather get into an accident than take any reactive actions because "they're in the right.").
