I was in the parking lot of Home Depot the other day, and I noticed something odd; the so-called new Ford Maverick, is a copy of an older model, maybe not as popular, and definitely not as fuel efficient! Still, I'm really enjoying my new truck! One is a 2000-2010 Explorer Sport Trac, and the other is my Maverick.

Your right, I was originally looking at getting a used Adrenaline before prices went insaine, so a Maverick became my prime choice with the FX4 package.

Yes, quite similar! Noticed even the front windows are not tinted just like the Mav. Gas filler is on opposite side. What is it that usually has the engineer decide what side to put it on??

When I needed a new truck i hemmed and hawed about the Sport Trac before ordering my Mav. The 16/21 mpg hurts but they are nice little trucks.

It's generally based on the packaging of all the components within the system of supporting parts. Driver-side placement is usually prioritized for convenience.
