Nice project if you feel you need so many tie downs. Maybe my opinion will change when I finally get my truck, but it the number of tie downs currently on it is already excessive for me. I'm not even going to add a sliding rail to my xlt. I'll just add a few fixed tie downs

Personally I would change out those countersunk style bolts for a proper buttonhead bolt or something along those lines. I believe you're compromising the retention hold of the unit itself due to the fact that there is very little surface contact between the bolt head and the anchor. Shouldn't be too hard to find the proper bolts.

Mainly wanted a way to lock my bikes in the bed that didn't have fasteners that could be removed by unscrewing them. And I have needed an extra anchor point or two in the rear for the bungee net. Should work like a dream for what I need.

Oh for the smaller tie downs? Yeah that wouldn't be a bad idea. Only really planning on using those small ones for my bungee net. Won't be much stress on em with that.

That makes sense. Have you tested the tie downs themselves to see how hard they are to cut through. Then again, they are probably just enough to keep people honest.

Hopefully it's enough for someone to try to steal someone else's bike lol.

While no lock will stop a determined thief, they do reduce crimes of opportunity.
