Has anyone successfully avoided dealer ADM charge?

There are lots of posts here about Dealers adding ADM charges to ordered vehicles. So far it seems that most people just bend over and pay the extra $1,000’s because they want their Maverick.

My question is, has anyone successfully resisted this money grab and gotten the dealer to back down?

I paid what we agreed on when I placed the order, no ADM.

What I’m looking for is people who got dealers to back down after they asked for markup.

Looking for tactics that might have worked to make them back down. Like lawsuits, attorney generals, bad press, social media slamming, etc.

Take a lot of people with you to the dealership when you go. Especially adults as potential customers. Go in as a posse.

Tell them that you will walk away if they don't remove the ADM. That will show them who the boss is!

That’s the problem. They want you to walk. Ten people standing outside ready and willing to pay $5K over MSRP.
It's more like +$10-$15k for the hybrid.

When the new Ranger came out in January 2019, I thought I wanted one. Markups etc were similar to current Maverick games. By November Ford was offering $6k in rebates. Took my dealer about an hour to find one for me.

Bad news is it’s too tall, too big and there’s drivability problems that Lord Motor Co refuses to address. Good news is, I can sell it for more than I paid for it.

OP ..you need to explain clearly ,you are not walking away , you will go to Ford, you will hire an attorney ,you will hit social media with a vengeance and post your experience on every Maverick board out there ,this in turn will cause you 100,s if not thousands of negative reviews .you need to communicate as calmly as possible .But with great resolve..do you have documentation of your order?

I didn't, but I had a retail order. GYF honored their end of the bargain. I'm sure they didn't want any unnecessary fallout after their website got bombed with comments after what happened to GreenLady.

I got a Ranger in December 2019 with those ridiculous discounts - sold it to Carmax when my Mav came in and came out ahead by a very good margin. Also bought at Granger, 3% below invoice plus another $750 Ford targeted marketing (for current owners).

If any of the dealers that are marking up cared about negative social media, they wouldn't be doing it. I highly doubt if a dealer is adding ADM they would change their tune when it comes time to sign the dotted line. What do online reviews say about your dealer?
