Just show them this video:

Show them this video unless you ordered from LM. The vehicle purchasing process is a game to dealer employees and serious business for the buyer. You want to be honest and their honesty loses out to greed 10/10. If (and only if) you find the rare straight shooter, keep your business with them or risk extra money among the unknown sea of sharks and swindlers of the auto industry.

I ordered my XLT Hybrid Alto Blue, Luxury Package, Trailer hitch, Co-Pilot360, and have removed the Spray-in Bed liner, back in the last week of October. After not hearing anything from Ford Co. I called Marketing and Sales and YES they had my order. It would have been nice to get a confirmation that they in-fact had my order. As of today I have not been given a build date or a VIN. Since it is getting late in the production year for a 2022 model I called M&S again asking what was the plan if I had not received my Model 2022 by the time they transitioned to the 2023 model. I was told that my order will be rolled over and I would be given a 2023 model with the options I ordered. Based on a limited knowledge of Contract Law it would seem the Ford and I have a contract. The three parts of a contract are “Offer”, “Acceptance”, and “Considerance Paid”. I beleive my dealings with Ford Co. meeting those criteria. My sales person Chris Brubaker and dealer O.C.Welch in Hilton Head/Hardeville, SC. have been very considerate during the extended delays. They have let me continue to drive the vehicle I’m trading in, until my Maverick arrives. I see this as going above and beyond normal customer service.
I believe your contract/agreement is with the dealer NOT FOMOCO!

My dealer assured me they would honor MSRP when the 2023's were available to order. Santa Fe NN. However when in Denver, found a 2020 Honda Ridgeline with 12k miles. Cost a little more but many options not available on the Ford. Plus, drove it home within hours

I looked at a couple of window stickers for loaded 2020's and they come off as mid range SUV's with a couple of luxury (nice-to-have items) and a 40k price tag. A similar Maverick is 30k.

Maybe remind the dealer about that, and if they continue to be sleazy, tell them you will be contacting Ford Corp to open a customer service case against them.
The process is Bump it up through the dealership all the way to the GM or owner. Document who you spoke to and when and if calls are not returned who from and dates. Then if not resolved reach out to Ford CRS (Customer Relation Services) or CRC (Customer Relations Center). They will always want to know that you tried every angle to get resolved with the dealer first. But it also builds a better case if you do need to get CRS involved.

For a $110 difference, I’d pay it and negotiate a couple free oil changes. Worth a shot and the sale manager won’t care about $100 in 7500 miles from now

I just picked up my first edition Hybrid five days ago, which I ordered last June, and I should be happy and excited, but I’m disappointed because the dealer treated me poorly. He informed me he’s got good news and bad news, good news the vehicles in, bad news Ford is no longer honoring price protection. I told him they were, he told me they were not, when he walked away I called Ford and a nice young lady I talk to in the maverick marketing department explain to me that they are supposed to honor price protection it has not been canceled, when the salesman and sales manager came back, I explained it to them again and they told me that the representative was wrong, and then he went and pulled up some paperwork showing that the price protection for the Ford bronco was canceled, even though I ordered a Ford maverick. When I came home, instead of enjoying my vehicle I had a call Ford and file a complaint, and again they told me they would help me but the dealer is supposed to honor price protection, I was upset I went back the next day and went through the whole BS circle again, where they pulled up the same article about the Ford bronco and told me Ford was not honoring price protection. Now I have to wait about 10 business days, to see if Ford can straighten this mess out. For me it’s a $950 up charge. Couldn’t really complain too much at the dealership, because they’re going to say take it or leave it, and then they’re not going To sell me the vehicle If I don’t agree to pay the price that they set forth. I’m sure when I leave, and the dust settles, they will be applying for the price protection so they can pocket $950.

Not only did my dealer honor my price protection, I also received Ford Credit .9% financing that was available when ordered. (currently 1.9% for 48 mo.)
I got the same .9% for 36 mo

Notice to dealerships said protection was automatic. They already have the money/never paid it to ford. They're playing dumb to try and steal from their customers.
Yes, it is (supposed to be) automatic. There was a change in procedure for 2022 vehicles, but it is clear that some dealers are not up to date.

But the process is full of glitches. Our dealership always honors the price protection to our customers, but we are not always reimbursed by Ford. Reimbursement is supposed to happen a month or two after the vehicle sale date, but that doesn't always work out.

That is part of the complication. The dealer does not have the money at the time of the sale. The dealer pays Ford the higher price, and might(?) get the difference back a month or two later. Our small dealership is fighting for $900 we are owed in price protection from Ford that should have been paid months ago. We will probably never get it. But did sell the vehicle to the customer at the lower price, as was right.

Price protection also depends on how the vehicle was ordered. If some dealers entered retail orders as "stock" orders instead, than the price protection would not apply.

Dealers should be granting the price protection on eligible vehicles. But it isn't as easy and automatic as some are assuming for the dealers to actually get paid. The biggest problem is that some dealers aren't up-to-date on the price protection rules and procedures.

My dealer told me I was entitled to price protection but I would have to wait for a refund check after Ford honored their paperwork showing I was entitled to it. Concerning the Farm Bureau rebate, they would not honor it because Smart Vincent showed that it wasn't being offered for the Maverick in California when I ordered mine. They did give me the 0% for 36 months financing.
For AZDX plans, that is one of the options Ford gives..... they will pay you the price protection amount when Ford pays them. Some dealers may do that for other non-plan sales as well?

August order, I should get price protection, BUT I asked the dealership to get rid of a few constrained options in February - just like the FORD email said to do. Does this mean I no longer qualify for price protection?

After following this thread I decided to proactively email our salesguy about price protection, no add-ons to the truck that are not on original order, x-plan that was accepted when we ordered etc. I actually had my husband send the email since this is his truck and I had to handle the dealer trying to sell our ordered Mav in Feb. Salesguy confirmed via email, we have locked in price protection, they accepted our x-plan (need to provide pay stub as employment proof as x-plan is a wk benefit) and that they would not add anything on. We intended to add on the upgraded alarm system but I was not letting the dealer know that till we had an agreement on those terms. My husband agreed when ordering, to pay $1500 over MSRP (against my opinions) so I do not want them getting any other $. I added on the security plus system yesterday evening, it even scheduled install right thru the Ford site.

The truck is being inspected, cleaned and gased up this afternoon. Unfortunately due to an evening business dinner we can't pick it up till tomorrow 😒 Hopefully all the pricing is good when we get there, I have a file folder w everything printed out from the Ford memo on price protection, to pay stub copy and X-Plan pin and print out.
