My wife and I saw four of these white XLTs at Gaudin Ford in Las Vegas three weeks ago. Then she saw a red Explorer and, well, the rest is history

Mystery solved but not my question about shipping time. Was told by my salesperson at that dealer they are for rental fleet.

They are courtesy deliveries and we are just holding for Enterprise. We did not order them so I have no way of knowing when they were ordered. They got here about 2 weeks ago and Enterprise is picking them up. They got them directly from Ford and were drop shipped here.

Very close to home dealer, if just one was an ecoboost.... I'd be on it like white on rice, on a paper plate in a snow storm!

Henry Ford quote clarification (“any color, as long as it’s black”): FoMoCo made factory blue and green Midel T’s, and A’s. Henry was emphasizing that black was more efficient and profitable than any other color.
This ‘misinterpretation’ came to haunt when the other manufacturers began to emphasize an array of colors.
Yes, the original quote has morphed over the years. Go figure…

New way of producing vehicles faster - all Mavericks come in base white and you get cans of spray paint at the dealer upon delivery.
I tried to game the system a bit by choosing a white XL. Sadly it hasn’t increased Fords interest in filling the order at all. I would’ve preferred gray. Dare not change it now.

Back in the 1950s a neighbor had a lovingly maintained maroon Model T (with matching maroon tufted velvet upholstery). By then he was keeping it garaged for the winter and only tooled around in it from roughly May 'til September.
