Sad day, drivers side 1st edition stickers coming off.

4000 miles in and no problems until yesterday. Stickers decided to come off on the driver's side. I have filed a claim at the car wash. I also have an appointment at the ford bodyshop.. hoping that the stickers aren't so delicate that regular car washing can't be done.

There is no residual glue where the stickers came off. Almost like the stickers were missing adhesive.

I have purchased large decals for under $75 on Ebay, then stuck them on a van. That was nearly 4 years ago, many car washes and they look great. Not sure why they cannot get this decal thing figured out.

I have a feeling it's heated high pressure water at the car wash. I've removed factory decals like this with a heat gun and the come right off with minimal heat up and leave no residue at all.

I wonder if it would be worth while to put a plastic protective film over the decals. Like a clear bra material.

After two rounds through the carwash, nothing to report with my decals. If the door decals start to come off I won't be heartbroken. But I'd be a little sad if the hood one does.

I'd be pretty shocked if a car wash actually compensates you for that.

I bet your 'claim' goes right in the round file.

As far as I'm concerned, this is cheap crap quality materials used by Ford on the Maverick, but I seem to recall they've already published a bulletin or something noted in another post about this issue, their lawyers drew up some response declaring is not their fault, etc best I can recall. I've got a 2011 F-150 4x4 with the factory 4x4 Off Road stickers on each side of the bed that still look like fresh from the factory after countless car washes since 2011. Just my opinion.
