I've searched the forum but can't find anything on how to remove the antenna base from my roof. I'm going to wrap the top in matte black so I'd like to remove the antenna base. I know the antenna is screwed on the base but do not know how the base is mounted. Any one know how to do it? Thanks!

I can’t find it. I’m putting it back on but I’d like to remove it for the wrap job. Surely you don’t have to drop the headliner…which I will not do.

Head liner one or two bolts under it. I just put a stubby attena on it now it's basicly just the base and works as well as the factory if not better

Remove the dome light and the single screw is right there above it. The screw goes through a metal clip that is spring like. Once removed you can pull the antenna up. If you have small arms and hands you can reach the plugs through the dome light hole. If not you can recruit someone with small hands. Or last resort, the antenna has about 12 inches of slack to hang over the back and you can work from the front to the hole. Then cut an X and push the antenna through and rest the antenna towards the front.

There is no reason to remove it to wrap it. That is just another problem. I had mine done without removal and you cant even tell if its done correctly.

I was able to get the dome light and can see the nut to get it off. It`s kind of tough to get to.
What did you use to get that nut off?
