Appears to be of the type where the most forward panel is stationary, so even if the folding sections are leaning against the rear window the fullest length of the bed is not open. Something to keep in mind.

How exactly is that called a hard folding cover? Sure looks like a soft material stretched over a folding frame. Hard pass....

You're right and I believe the only thing hard about it is the frame itself. Seems expensive compared to the Gator Tri fold setup which I believe is almost a few hundred bucks cheaper. I think Hard Cover is pretty misleading, says right in the description that it uses a soft vinyl top.

The hard fold tonneau covers all have the drawback of blocking the rear view window when opened and/or not allowing access to the full bed area.

But, to each his/her own. There are pluses and minuses to everything.

If you read the installation instructions you notice on folding you have to first fold a clamp on each side into the frame rail or it will puncture the cover. They entirely missed the boat on this cover.

It says it has aluminum sub panels. If you look at the pictures, and not the video, you can see the aluminum panels sandwiched between the vinyl and frame. This has a place, but it’s not on my truck. For someone who needs cheap security it seems to be an option.

Not a fan of it. The commercial for it shows other items on the truck more. Hunting the perfect bed cover has been an experience. I’ve went from a wanting a cheap gator trifold to an expensive as heck Undercover Armor Flex. Think it’s settled though. Now I have the next 10 years to find a good price so I’m ready for my truck to arrive.

It does look like AL sub-panels on the main folding parts but there are also sections in between that have no aluminum panels and are just the vinyl. To me it seems like those sections where it folds and has no aluminum, just the vinyl negate the security of the aluminum panels?

Cut the vinyl and you still have an aluminum frame and panels attached to the truck from underneath. Cut a hard roll-up along the splines and you have pretty much the same scenario as cutting the vinyl on this. It might be easier to get into than some other designs, but it’s certainly more secure than any soft tonneau.

As I don’t have any experience with it, I don’t want to discredit their design. It’s an affordable option and the more aftermarket for our trucks the better.
