I believe even if you buy it toward the end of the factory warranty, it is still considered effective from the vehicle purchase date, correct? In other words, regardless of when the extended warranty is purchased, you're still essentially getting coverage for the number of years purchased less the 3-year factory warranty. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.
Yes, but if you wait and/or drive for an extended period (the Flood site asks if you are under 12 or 36 months, I assume it is probably 12K miles as well - they just ask for your mileage) it will cost more than buying it in the first year.

I was quoted about $200 more than what those prices would be. Granger is quoting $1,000 for a 6/100K with a $200 deductible. When $50 below the prices listed in the link would put it around $800 for that warranty.

Would location throw the quote that much?
It shouldn't. There have been some differences based upon the key replacement, lighting and Rental. Flood's quotes are not including any of those. Apples to apples ours is $50 cheaper.

I’m going with Grainger. Should have all the paperwork tomorrow.

Would you buy the key service for $80.00?

Would you buy the Interior / Exterior Lighting for $70.00?

Would you buy the First day rental for $50.00?

I bought one a few weeks ago from another online seller, and I was really skeptical about the whole thing. I thought it was way too good to be true based on what I've been quoted from local dealers. Within 48 hours of purchase, the coverage showed up in my FordPass app, so I know these deals are legit.

I got the lighting add-on. Those LED headlight assemblies can be expensive if they fail down the road. I'm not worried about losing keys, and I don't see myself being in a position to need a rental, so I passed on those coverages.

It does bother me that Ford decided to exclude lighting from the PremiumCare coverage, but it is what it is.

I thought the lighting is $35. Is the $70 something special or additional? Is it dependent on how long you increase the coverage? I was pricing 8 yrs/ 60,000 miles, $50 deductible.

The add on costs change depending on the length I think.

Would you mind telling me who you went with? Flood Ford 6yr/100k $200 deductible is $1,035… good deal?? I for sure want 6yr/100k and wish I could swing a 0-50$ ded. But too pricey for now. Thx g

  • I would not. I can't remember when the last time I lost a key was.
  • Probably at that price. Modern light assemblies are generally a few hundred dollars a pair. God only knows how much you have to take apart on the Maverick to replace them. Long gone are the days of reaching under the hood and swapping a bulb in 90 seconds.
  • No. My insurance covers rental and so does my roadside.
I didn't notice the option to delete these on the quote until going back to look at it today.

Anyone know how long after purchase before you get your points? How do they “arrive”?
I believe the points arrive within a month or so. I can’t say for sure as have no truck yet.

If it is like with any of our services the points arrive in a couple of days. I don't know if that is a slower process with the purchase and registration of a new vehicle.

Swapping a bulb in 90 seconds would be too easy now. 😂

And good riddance to those days. But modern LED assemblies like the Maverick - very common now - are far more expensive than a few hundred. They cannot be taken apart and have to be replaced as an entire unit.

I still wouldn't buy an extended warranty on this thing. But just throwing that out there.

That's the nice thing about freedom of choice. Some will purchase the ESP, others won't. It's a win-win for everyone :D

Just curious as to why you still wouldn't buy a ESP. I'm on the fence about getting one. I had one on 08 F150, never used, I had one my girlfriend's 08 MKZ and we used a few times. So it's been a long time since I've been in the position to buy one. My current DD is either my 21 Harley or 04 Ranger so Maverick is my first new truck since my 08 F150.
