I ordered from Chapman Horsham - It was almost zero communication but they sold for the price they emailed me 6 months earlier....One of my better vehicle purchases, no hassles, picked me up at the Airport, and a smooth 3 hours I was on the road...Set up FordPass and CarPlay before leaving the lot.Would love to know what happened at horsham Chapman too.
You picked up your Maverick after the price increase? If so did they honor the price protection from Ford?I ordered from Chapman Horsham - It was almost zero communication but they sold for the price they emailed me 6 months earlier....One of my better vehicle purchases, no hassles, picked up up at Airport, and a smooth 3 hours I was on the road...Set up FordPass and CarPlay before leaving the lot.
Yes prior to pickup there was a price increase, but Chapman Horsham honored their original quoted price. You picked up your Maverick after the price increase? If so did they honor the price protection from Ford?
Ok thanks. We’ll see how my Maverick plays out which should be very soon. Who did you work with?Yes prior to pickup there was a price increase, but Chapman Horsham honored their original quoted price.
Ordered thru Tom (was active on this site), then dealt with his assistant Steve, then a 3rd person (can't remember the name), and finally with a lady assistant Finance Mgr for paperwork. But an older sales rep gave me the 15 minute tour of my truck...you'll have to learn most about the Maverick from here and the manual.Ok thanks. Ok thanks. I ordered late July from Tom. I’ve had email interactions with Tom, Steve, Ashly and another woman but forget her name. I’m about to take possession of my Maverick very soon. So far I’ve had no complaints just wondering if they were honoring the price protection. I’ll report back once I get the paperwork done and take possession of my Maverick.Ordered thru Tom (was active on this site), then dealt with his assistant Steve, then a 3rd person (can't remember the name), and finally with a lady assistant Finance Mgr for paperwork. Not a complaint, but if you want to know the status of delivery, you have to email (Steve) for answers...and they tend to be the last to know until the RR/trucking company calls. I was lucky to be in the 4% below Invoice orders (July 30th). So far, the Hybrid is far more truck than I expected...
People that complain about markup won't get a lot of sympathy from those that patiently waited for 6, 7, or 8 months....for delivery.. I like the truck but would not have paid a $5k, $10k markup...you'd be in the hole for resale or trade in.
This is a disturbing (and quite believable) assessment of the car business straight from the horse's mouth.Hey dude- I'm glad you walked, be patient.
This kind of shit is what ruined working in the car business for me. I sold cars and sales managed for 12 years. I personally never had a problem with sitting across from someone and negotiating hard to sell the car for as much as I could get. I enjoyed it, the give and take, the sport of it. But- I always made sure it was a fair "Fight".
But, this kind of shit is totally different. This is basically bullying people. They are trying to take advantage of people who are weak in one way or another. If they were being upfront, and offering the truck at MSRP + $10k, no problem. Willing seller/Willing buyer, all fair. They are testing people to find the mentally weakest buyers.
I worked for numerous assholes who PREYED ON people... old ladies, dumb people, desperate people, people with bad credit who need a car to get to work. Nice people don't prey on the weak. And just like schoolyard bullies these guys (they were all guys) never tangled with the strong. They would give a car away to a smart, wealthy buyer, but they would try to completely destroy someone who wasn't smart or savvy.
It's sick and creepy.
A few problems with that idea, based on my experience:This really stinks.—If you would still like a Maverick, have you started checking other dealerships in Florida? Maybe up into Alabama and Georgia too.
Are you referring to Ernest McCarty Ford in Alabaster or Mullinax Ford in Mobile? There is a dealer in Alabama that someone said was great, but I can’t remember the name.
I have an order with Kennedy Ford I got an email that Chapman had almost exactly what I had in order I reached out to them they said it was available but it was going to cost me an additional $10,000 for a little less than what I have in order. I contacted all three local news channels but I think advertising dollars shut them upI have a order with them. What happened?
